No need for 4wd - the roads to Smokey`s are clear.

Priority will be given to displaced families and crews in the area to help.

Located just 6 miles from Boone, you are close to it all yet still in a quiet setting.

Wake up to fog resting over the pond in the mornings.

Watch the sun set over the mountains in the evening.

Smokey`s Cabin is your perfect tiny but not so tiny getaway.

And if you happen to be a Tennessee fan, you`ll love the nods to Smokey & the Vols!

Rocky Mountain is a quiet and friendly neighborhood. Most houses here are full time residents so please be mindful and respectful with noise and when driving on our street.

Boone is only 6 miles away. Blowing Rock & Banner Elk are not much further away. At Smokey`s Cabin, you`re close to App State, Tweetsie Railroad and so many hikes and trails that the high country has to offer

We have been having a few issues with the a/c in the house so it is no longer listed in the amenities. If it`s working, you are welcome to use it but we cannot guarantee that it will work during your stay. We are working to hopefully get it replaced. Please reach out to the owners if you need help with the thermostat.
Dogs are allowed - the pet fee is $50
Make sure your dogs are listed on the reservation
No parties
No loud music or noises
No smoking on the property

We love dogs but please keep them off the furniture - if any pet hair is found on furniture, it will incur an extra $200 cleaning fee.

Cats are not allowed.

PLEASE READ: Unfortunately we also cannot allow these dog breeds: Dobermans, Rottweilers, German Shepherds or Chows. Thank you for understanding! If you book your reservation and have one of these dogs with you, your reservation could be subject to cancellation without refund.

The central a/c/heat system is sensitive. If it is turned up or down more than 3 degrees at a time, it may shut down for safety reasons. If this happens, we may not be able to guarantee a/c or heat for your stay. Please do not turn the a/c temp below 70 or the heat temp above 75. If the HVAC tech is called out for a false alarm, there will be a $150 fee. Our fees are due to experience so we appreciate you understanding!

As this is the mountains and we often experience storms and high winds, we sometimes experience outages of various kinds. They are almost always turned back on quickly and we won`t be able to give refunds for outages except for on a case by case basis. *If you know you need internet, please consider bringing your own hotspot to avoid missing important meetings
