Good hotel, and would be better if the outside check-in kiosk would work. It didn’t, and not just for me but for multiple people. It’s an issue if you want to check in late. Another improvement would be if I could charge my EV in the garage. But staff is very friendly, breakfast is very good, bathroom is clean. TV is not very user friendly, with dozens of channels that are not available but you have to page through.

Clean, great location, walkable to everywhere, train or tram station , great breakfast , friendly staff. My son is studying in IUBH, perfect place for me when I am visiting. I was here last year too when it was Maxx hotel. Yard makes you feel like home !

Continued excellence - with blackbirds
One indication of a good hotel is that it put things right if a problem occurs, I think. And this is what happened at the beginning of our 10 day stay after a mix-up with our booking. We have stayed a number of times before at this hotel, and for good reason; though it is again under new management. But overall it is still excellent generally. And ... still the blackbirds sing so consistently in the garden throughout the day that it seems they should be on the pay-roll! The large restaurant over-looking that splendid garden area really has the look, and the food and service is very good too. As is the welcoming attitude of the staff.

Renovated an old hotel in the surface, but under that you can see the original. Ancient bathrooms and ironing boards from the 80s in the bedrooms. If you spend so much renovating why do a half job?

Modern comforts in a land of legends
This hotel, at which we have stayed a number of times, has recently come under new management, and goes from strength to strength. The new décor is modern yet relaxing and likely to appeal to any kind of guest. Our room was airy, spacious, and clean - with a balcony over looking a park-garden. The bathroom was modern and well-appointed. Breakfasts are served in a large and pleasant room, opening on to a garden. The food was varied, and variously tasty; likely to enhance the beginning of anyone's day. And the staff are friendly and welcoming. In short, any description of the hotel has to be all about superlatives. The hotel has the advantage of being within easy walking distance of the centre of the attractive spa town of Bad Honnef - up river from Bonn. And of course Drachenfels is nearby!

Peace and birdsong in Bad Honnef
There are many very good things about this hotel. It's very convenient for the town, which during this stay basked in very warm sunshine. Good restaurants and shops are easily to hand. The immediate environs of the hotel are most attractive; our spacious room with a balcony looked out upon a large garden. Only blackbirds and song thrushes disturbed the early morning peace.

Well located close to the center of the town.
I stayed there in June. As the hotel has no air conditioning, it was extremely uncomfortable sleeping. The room was otherwise adequately furnished. If you want to watch TV, forget about finding CNN or other major US networks. Also their system is antiquated. Wi-Fi worked fine.

Very nice ans safe hotel to stay at.
The hotel is not on main street but a ten minute walk to City Center and fifteen minutes to regional train station. Quiet and safe. Very nice room with help full staff. Restaurant and pub located on property were great and reasonable for Europe standards. The carpet in the room needed to be replaced but the complimentary slippers helped with that. The rest of room, bed, couch, bath, shower were great.

This is my favourite hotel in the Bonn area. Since my last visit, wired internet connections in guest rooms have been replaced by wifi.

Great find
This is definitely a hotel to consider if, like me, a quiet and relaxing hotel is your top priority when you visit Bonn. The Avendi is one of two modern Seminaris conference-focused hotels situated in a parkland environment in the middle of Bad Honnef. So many rooms face onto a large grassy courtyard, rather than a street. Staff are efficient and friendly. There is an excellent restaurant. Shops and restaurants in Bad Honnef are just a few minutes walk away. The rooms are large, modern and well appointed. Complimentary internet connections in rooms are wired, but there is a WiFi hotspot in a small library with tables. A health, fitness and spa therapy building is joined to the hotel, with a large indoor swimming pool. Bad Honnef is at the end of one of the U-Bahn lines - journey time to Bonn Hauptbahnhof about 40 minutes. Bad Honnef also has its own mainline railway station which is directly connected to the station at Cologne-Bonn Airport. To get from the mainline railway station you need a taxi, but the U-Bahn station is a pleasant 10 minute walk through the park and then quiet streets. You don't get a free U-Bahn tourist card as you do in more central Bonn hotels, but the additional cost of a day ticket is not much. Overall, therefore, a very enjoyable stay. This is a 4 star hotel without reservation, good value for money in the Bonn area, and I'll stay here again.
