It sits between Beaufort and Bluffton ( both about 20 minutes), Hilton Head (about 40 minutes), Savannah, GA (about 40 minutes) and Charleston (about 90 minutes). Hunting Island State Park is about 40 Minutes away, a great place with great beaches for beach combing, swimming or picnicking. Historic Beaufort is a great place for dining down on Bay Street, visiting some of its museums or antiquing in many of its shops. Downtown Bluffton has some great restaurants and small shops. Hilton Head is a renowned island known for its beaches, golf courses and restaurants, a fabulous place to explore, make time to go to the historic lighthouse for fabulous views in every direction. Savannah and Charleston are both wonderful places to visit and explore. You can walk the cobbled streets that have been there for centuries or take a guided buggy ride, it is great for people of all ages. These are just a few suggestions, but please let me know of any others that you find. Callawassie Island Club has a 27 hole Tom Fazio Golf course, it is as fun and challenging as any you will ever find. Try to keep your concentration as you pass by the gators laying in the sun (now that is a water hazard) or all of the "Birds of the Marsh" (Herons, Egrets, etc.) or the bald eagles nesting along the waters edge. Use of the golf cart made evening sunsets and exploring the island a blast for the ladies but they did let me ride occasionally on the back seat. The grill made dinners easy, along with coffee on the back screened in deck. Wildlife everywhere along with quick one day trips to Savannah, Hilton Head and Charleston. The home is lovely, with great flow, a fully stocked kitchen as far as tools and appliances go. Quiet and gorgeous neighborhood that exudes southern charm. The kids enjoyed sightseeing and viewing nature on the golf cart rides through the neighborhood.
