Unfortunately, this property was not what we felt was advertised. The pics perhaps are from several years ago? We actually ended up leaving shortly after our arrival. Upon entering the home there was a strong unpleasant odor ( musty, damp, sewage). My wife, who suffers from migraines and is medically treated for them could not tolerate the odor. The place is not really a "cabin" in our mind. It is a house. There is a main floor and then what appears to be a finished basement or in-law set-up without any connection to each other. Meaning you have to go outside to get to either level. Additionally, there is no central air, only a wall unit in the upstairs living area ( to our knowledge). It is a very dark house in our opinion, appliances are very dated. Outside was an issue as well. Although we know it is wooded and there are going to be insects ( can't be helped) there were large spider webs with large spiders (not little) on the exterior of the house and perimeter near the interior. Also near the walking path to the creek, there were fire ant nests. We brought our two small dogs with us, and this was a huge safety concern. Again, we understand it is "the woods" but numerous spider webs , and fire ants, and other beetle type bugs should be removed from the living areas in and out near the perimeter. The wrap around porch had many of these insects. The decking furniture was older, not kept up in good shape, and there was debris on every seating area. It was for both health and safety reasons we felt we could not stay and left. When I am on vacation, I don't feel that I should have to clean or rid someone else's property of insects, or spend my time doing so. I keep our home free of pests and I don't want to do this when on vacation.
