#### Take boat trips to the surrounding islands and watch the sunset from the pier on this stunning strand backed by verdant hills of palm trees and other exotic vegetation.

Biscaia Beach is a scenic arched bay beside tropical terrain. It is remote and serene, with only a few food huts and small and colorful boats adorning its sandy strand. Relax in this tranquil zone and go for a swim in the refreshing water of the Atlantic Ocean.

Bring your kids beachcombing along the soft sand of the beach. Sunbathe in this peaceful area and stop for lunch at one of the small restaurants serving traditional delicacies, with a focus on seafood. The emerald hues of undulating hills and forest terrain provide a picturesque backdrop.

Snap photos of the few colorful buildings dotted around the hills. Sit at the end of the pier and look down at the schools of pretty tropical fish flitting about in the water. With luck, you may spot turtles here as well. 

Rent watersports equipment from a hut on the beach. Try a stand-up paddleboard on the calm water with few waves. Take a sailboat out on the ocean to explore some of the nearby islets. Embark on a pleasant stroll through the tropical vegetation behind the stretch of sand. 

Stay at one of the impressive hotels or pousadas (inns) that back onto the beach. Enjoy a few drinks at dusk and watch the sun descend beyond the horizon.

Note that the beach is open at all times and is free to access. It is rarely crowded.

Biscaia Beach is on the western flank of a peninsula on the eastern outskirts of Angra dos Reis. Drive east of the town for about 12 miles (19 kilometers) to get here in about 35 minutes. Leave your car on the side of the road, a short walk from the beach. Relax on some of the other nearby beaches, including Praia das Éguas, Praia da Baleia and Praia do Basílio.
