The structure is old and has been refurbished, but not too weel. The room is very humid and if you need an adaptor for electricity it is available…but you have to pay 4 GBP and buy it!!! The room itself loses a lot of space with a very long desk along all one wall. Two large chairs do not allow to pass correctly around the bed. Do you want internet? Sometimes it works, a lot of times not and there are no convenient areas around the neighbourhood for at least 2 miles. And if they send someone to your room to repair, they make the mistake to go to another room. Are you using the toilet? Not too much please because the water flush is not working very well, actually AT ALL. You have to open it, throw a lot of water and repair it yourself! Then, do you need an early wake-up call? No problem. The workers in the nearby lot will start at 6.30 helping you to start your day in a perfect mood!!! By the way, in case you have heavy luggage it is all your problem: not even a person opening the door for you. Last but not least, no one is cleaning the room in the morning or in the afternoon. I did query this and the manager was very apologetic and did not know how this had happened. We have stayed at Peter Scott many times and can't fault the staff enough. Make sure you read check in instructions as there’s none when you enter to tell you where to go . Car park is described as at the hotel but is actually across the road in a different car park. Wasn’t described as this being in student accommodation or else I wouldn’t have bothered . Room was very small, bathroom badly needs redone with marks all over shower floor. Room is super crammed and can hear pipe works and also the rooms next door / hallway and was awoken both nights with people in the hallways . No facilities in the hotel such as kettle , fridge etc and I’ve paid a lot less for a hotel that’s came with these . The shower tray was damaged and worn and a bit dated, but clean. The decor in the communal area was also tired. The hotel was handy for the uni which it was what i wanted. Main downside was the noise of the central heating or water or something. There was an intermittent rumbling or thrum all night which spoilt the stay. I would go back but avoid room 210! The main hotel was where we had breakfast and it was fine.
