  • This detached barn conversion, situated in the heart of North Devon, sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms; a super king double bed and pyramid bunk. All the rooms are on one level, with 1 small step into the kitchen. The barn features a large lounge, dining room and kitchen, bathroom with large walk-in shower and double sinks, airconditioning in the bedrooms, and underfloor heating throughout supplied from the environmentally friendly wood pellet biomass heating. The bedrooms are fitted with integrated air-conditioning, making if perfect retreat for any season.

    This south facing barn looks out over the ornamental garden from its two private patios (one looking over the walled garden, and one looking over the ornamental courtyard garden), and is adjacent to the large 1,500m² walled garden.

    High Park Barns has a secure, purpose-built 1 acre dog exercise field located on site. Designed with safety, freedom, and fun in mind, our fully enclosed field, with 1.8m high fencing, offers dogs the perfect space to run, play, and train off-lead in a safe and private environment. The dog field is open daily in the morning and evening for staying guests at no cost. Additional time can be booked during the day.

    The barns at High Park were built in the early 1900's, shortly after the main house was built in the mid 1840’s.

    It offers easy access to beaches, moors, coastal path walks, cycle paths, golf courses, horticultural gardens, children friendly fun parks, and many other traditional outdoor and indoor recreational activities for those seeking a truly relaxing, yet active, break away from the stresses of day-to-day life.

    The barn is situated with 14 acres of private land. Within the grounds is a shared indoor swimming pool and hot-tub, and large natural lake featuring stunning vegetation and decked terrace.

    The barn has access to four 7.2kW electric vehicle (EV) destination chargers.

    The barn is dog friendly, and you are welcome to bring them at £25 per dog per week or part thereof.

Autumn at Sheldon Barn

A very comfortable cottage with a great pool. There are lots of lovely places to visit nearby and amazing coastal paths to explore. We had a most relaxing stay, helped by lots of sunshine and beautiful Autumn colours.

Great stay over NYE

Fantastic place, super spacious and perfect for a self-catering holiday. We stayed with our 2 year old and had everything we needed. The grounds were beautiful, and the pool was amazing. It’s only a 10–15 minute drive to some really lovely beaches, and there are plenty of shops nearby, which was very convenient.

Thank you for a fabulous stay at Sheldon Barn, it was a luxurious experience with exceptional attention to detail. Lovely towels, bedding, air con and cooking facilities. We had everything we could need or want for the week and had a great holiday. A beautiful location, and a great find. Great welcome cream tea too!

Excellent

We had just the best time. The barn was beautiful and so many little touches included. Furnishings were all great quality. Cream tea on arrival and fresh milk in the fridge when we got there. The pool was ideal and we managed to swim twice a day making use of both the scheduled swim time and the free slots! We made use of the dog field at the free times. Staff were very friendly and communication was spot on.7 We really did love it there. Hoping to return. X

A beautiful, relaxing place to stay, with facilities nearby

Our 3rd visit to High Barns, buy our 1st in Sheldon. Suits 3 adults or 2 adults & 2 kids. Love it here, so quiet & relaxing, with feature hosts supplying all you need & a welcome cream tea too. Will definitely be back as love the indoor pool & hot tub too.

Fantastic Stay

We were expecting our visit to be really good and when we arrived we were even more happy with our booking. The properties are lovely and modern still with the charm of a barn, great facilities especially being able to use the pool and hot tub 24/7. The grounds are really nice with walled gardens which are secure and there are further grounds you can explore with a lake and dog fields. Can't recommend this enough, will certainly be back. Great hosts who visit and welcome you on arrival and the cream tea that welcomed us as we arrived was great too.

Wonderful stay at Sheldon Cottage

Beautiful property in a gorgeous location. Anne-Louise is a great host, the barn was stocked with everything we could possibly have needed and the beds were so comfortable. There was lots of space for us to relax in. The pool was fabulous, it was lovely to have it to ourselves for a bit each day. We loved exploring the lake and the trampoline was a bonus! It felt very peaceful, despite every other property being occupied, and in a brilliant location for beaches / shops / activities.

What a gem

We had a fantastic 6 days at Sheldon Barn, the owners were very welcoming and hospitable. Lots of lovely touches which always seem to let down many rental properties like: Well equipped kitchen Very sharp knives Welcome pack Air conditioning in the bedrooms Our overall impression was that the owners have an exceptional eye for detail and this drives the difference at High Park Barns, we will definitely be back.

First class accommodation

The pool and jacuzzi have designated times for every barn as well as free slots for first come first served. Biomass heating ensures good heat at all times. Impressive list of barn facilities. Retail Park nearby includes Asda and various well known takeaways.

Great location

Really lovely well appointed accommodation. Great pool and really well organised with useful instructions every where . Especially enjoyed the local milk in the fridge ! Location is great for kids - shops are 5 minutes away - I think the. It’s time we spent in the car was 10 minutes to Appledor -Westwood Ho! Is on the door step as is the big sheep

Exceeded expectations

What can I say? We stayed in the Sheldon Barn and everything exceeded our expectations. From the very warm welcome received, the comfort of the barn, all the personal touches that were waiting for us on our arrival were much more than we could have expected. If you want to recharge your batteries I would recommend a stay here. We will definitely book again. Thank you Ann-Marie

Very nice

Very nice location and amenities. Surrounding area and beaches also excellent, our favourite being Westward Ho! The dairy next door for milkshakes was always our first point before heading off for a walk along the beach. The only slight thing I would have to say was some areas of the accommodation needed a little more of a thorough clean, especially when we we collecting toddler toys from under bed TV cabinets. Outstanding though in all other respects.

Not the best , not the worst.

Nice location , and swimming pool on site but that’s about it . For the price we paid we did expect a lot more. Anyway I am not saying it’s terrible it’s just not worth it . The owners were nice tho.
