Top Bibb County Cabin Rentals

This is Luther Williams Field. It has been home to a number of teams, most recently The Macon Peaches, a minor league team. It began it's long tenure as a field early in the 1900s'. It is one of the longest lasting and still enduring fields in the nation.

More recently a movie, 42, was partially filmed here and the surrounding Macon area. The movie is the story of Jackie Robinson, the first African American player to play in the National Baseball League. It opens April 2nd. The field seen in the movie and the tunnel that is seen in the posters was here. You can now walk around this field and even today, there are still baseball games played here.

This field has been home to some famous players. During the their minor league tenure Pete Rose, Tony Perez, Andrew Jones, and Chipper Jones called this park home. Chipper Jones number, 10, will be retired this year at the Braves stadium.

"We were looking for a place to camp that was secluded and peaceful and that is exactly what we got! The tree house is very well built and was the perfect place to sleep at night. There was a spot with a large fire pit next to the river with a good sized clearing that we hung out and played games in. We opted to get some kayaks and went up and down the river. "Really nice, very clean rooms, property was very clean and looked new. Room was exceptional - great size with private area, desk and sofa with a nice separator. Nice large screen tv that swiveled. Only thing I didn't like was the poor lighting in the shower where the vanity was, very low light - could not use to put on makeup that's for sure. The outside of the property was very clean, no trash, lots of places to part with very good lighting, felt very safe at the property. Nice touch with the indoor pool too, but we didn't have time to use it. Also lots of ways to charge phone, laptops etc. "

"We came by as we were going to Florida then coming home. And the first weekend we stayed the rooms and hallway on the 3 floor were hot and I couldn’t sleep well. But the next time we came through we had the 2 floor and that was more comfortable. The shower on the 3 floor was also messed up it wouldn’t all spray from the shower head half came out the faucet Idk what’s wrong with the 3 floor. "
