Very nice hotel with exceptionally friendly staff. Love the convenience of the grocery store as well as the proximity to the cable car to Oeschinensee. Very nice restaurant on site. They also have fantastic jacuzzi tubs that rotate to the outside for an indoor-outdoor hot tub experience. Our room had a round bed!

Comfortable but take your kettle.
Very convenient location for both bus and train connections. Room decent size and great to have a balcony. The Internet did not work at all although they tried to fix it, important everywhere these days especially if you do not have inclusive EU roaming packages. No kettle or any coffee machine is provided in the rooms.

Dear guest Thanks for your message. In fact we had that day an internet problem what could fortunately be solved. We are a 3* hotel in Switzerland, so normally no coffee machines and / or kettles in the rooms. We sell coffee and tea in our restaurant and you can drink it on breakfast. We absolutely loved our stay! It is the perfect location for exploration. The hotel is incredibly clean and the food is delicious. The breakfast offered tons of yummy options. We chose to have dinner there as well and it was also amazing. Definitely order the Apple strudel dessert! Very friendly staff as well.

Food was amazing. View from the room was fantastic. Hot tube was the bonus after a long hike I didn't know we needed. Overall it was a fun experience. Sound does travel

Lovely stay
Lovely historic hotel, full of atmosphere, great location (near the train station, beautiful mountain view), comfortable bed (not too soft). Staff was very helpful whenever needed. Price was fair. Some guests told us they return yearly, and I can well understand why.

The room had other guest’s belongings left behind, the flooring was missing under the bed. no screen on the windows so bugs and mosquitoes got in the room through the closed curtains...

The town is absolutely beautiful, and the hotel is beautiful from the outside, but the beds are shockingly bad and in need of upgrading. I couldn't actually sleep on the bed, instead I decided to sleep on the couch. Also there is a horrible smell in the room and on the bed linen, it smelled like rotten food. Also check in at 4pm is inconvenient.

Great, cosy hotel
Amazing staff at the hotel, great variety of food at the restaurant, especially the cheese fondue! The room was spacious, clean with a mountain view. Really close to the Kandersteg train station as well! There is nothing bad about this hotel!

The stay was great, the view was amazing and the shower was awesome. Staff was incredible, no issue with a language barrier and extremely helpful.

Lovely hotel in the centre of town
Staff were always happy to help. Food we had was hot and served in a short time, even on a night that they were very busy. Room was comfortable, clean and warm. Would definitely return again.

One night and it was enough
Bathroom was awkward, with no showering door or curtains but only a swinging partion. Water and soap flew everywhere while showering and on the toilet seat, and the whole bathroom was a mess. Requested for a non-smoking room but having a non-smoking room placed between two smoking rooms was the worst idea ever, especially during summer when there is no AC and leaving your windows open means all the smoke from the neighbours comes in. Also, there seems to be cracks in the walls or floor board, we had cigarette smoke coming into our room even after closing all the windows. We couldn’t wait to leave! Wouldn’t recommend this place!

The room was modern and quite nice. The spa area is great and has everything you need. Personnel was really nice. During the night we could sadly hear a baby crying and a person snoring. Breakfast was ok, but not very big.

Easy to locate hotel in the middle of a small town. Close to restaurants and shopping. Nice sized rooms. Every time I had a question of someone at the front desk they were not overly helpful or friendly.

Loved our honeymoon stay
Had a wonderful time during our honeymoon in Switzerland at Chalet-Hotel Adler. The indoor outdoor hot tub was very special and the candles were a nice touch. Beautiful mountain view.

Friendly Hotel with good facilities.
Stayed 16th to 19th May 2016. Some internal refurbishment work was underway in part of the dining room but caused minimal disruption. Billiard room was out of use temporarily. Mini golf was being set up but could still be used. Indoor swimming pool and facilities were very nice, outdoor pool not yet open as too early in the season. Hotel staff were friendly and spoke good english. Our rooms were compact but had nice views of the mountains and small balconies. double beds although we booked two single rooms. There were no in-room tea or coffee making facilities but both rooms had a small fridge stocked with drinks and chocolates. Beds were quiet soft, pillows far too soft for my taste but extra could be obtained from reception. Good hotel services listing in various languages including English. Breakfast buffet very nice, fruit, muesli. yogurt, cheeses, meats, fresh rolls/bread , boiled eggs, jams,. Fresh coffee and tea to order. Lunch and evening menu reasonably wide and the food was freshly prepared, well cooked and plainly but decently presented. Reasonable wine list and reasonably stocked bar. The bar / lounge was of chairs and tables used for serving snacks rather than a lounge with settee and low chair type seating but comfortable enough. Hotel in well placed in the centre of Kandersteg 10 minutes walk from the main cable car lift., and convenient for the few shops, bank, and restaurants (mainly within other hotels) that dot the main street.

Great - But Not Fun for Kids in Pool
Great hotel and service. Only thing is the pool is advertised but what is not mentioned is kids 6 and under cannot enter even if they are supervised by an adult. So for a family destination it is not ideal, plus the pool area is a 'quiet area' so older kids cant splash or play games.

In der Hotelerie darf man - wie Sie richtig bemerkt haben - nie stehen bleiben. Wir erneuern deshalb jedes Jahr einige unserer Zimmer und bringen sie auf den neuesten Stand.
