Slightly shabby and blisteringly hot. The room was too hot no matter how the thermostat was adjusted. Corridors and stairwells were hot and reeked of cigarette smoke. Booked online in a B&B hotel only to find on arrival that breakfast was not included and cost an extra EU10.50 per person. Entry off the street was open 24 hours but not monitored.

Perfectly adequate
This hotel is perfectly adequate if you're going to be out most of the day like we were. The hotel in general is a bit dated but the rooms were practical and clean. The shower was a bit rusty but nothing awful. The rooms do get incredibly hot even when it is cold outside. It is quite loud to sleep with the window open so you have to choose between being hot or it being loud! Overall, it is fine. I think it is a bit expensive for what it is but was one of the cheapest options we could find.

Originally given a twin room when we booked a double room. The room was basic but clean but overlooked a flat roof that was strewn with vegetation and rubbish. When we complained we were given what we booked, being advised that this was a common problem with the Hotels.com website. The new room was in the attic and the air conditioning did not work, so the room was hot. As such, we had to leave the window open wide all evening.

10 Day Stay B and B Hotel Berlin-Ost
A friendly hotel to stay at a budget price. As UK visitors our only issue was the lack of a kettle to make hot drinks in your room. Staff friendly and rooms clean. Our room at the back was very quiet.

This was a good hotel for us to stay prior to going to see the sights in Berlin. The water was great for the shower and there is body was provided. When we set out the next morning they provided luggage lockers for 1 euro. The euro was returned once the key was returned. Staff was very friendly. Only down side to this hotel was the air conditioning did not blòw very hard. Other tha that it was a very good stay and I would recommend to anyone.

Hotel at reasonable cost in heart of the Fredrichshein district of Berlin which is full of ethnic restaurants, treelined streets, interestingly painted buildings, and local bookshops. Directly opposite a U-Bann stop with easy access from their to Alexanderplatz, and the western areas of the city in one direction, and a quick but somewhat complicated transfer to Ostcruz, a train stop to the airport. Really good breakfast included in the price.

We arrived at the Best Western Hotel City Ost only to discover the hotel was closed. Apparently it had been closed for several months. We were NEVER notified, how can this be possible? I am blind and I rely upon Orbitz to provide me with accurate information so I can travel safely. I Eventually I was able to contact another BEst Western and they found a transferred reservation. This should NEVER have happened. Luckily I am an experienced traveler; I am also very resourceful. I can only imagine the panic and anxiety, and trauma such circumstances would provoke in most blind or otherwise handicapped tourists. In my opinion, this was a failure on the part of Orbitz, someone in your organization should have known the property was closed. I had to track down the reservation, and pay additional transportation costs in order to arrive at the Best Western Hotel in Der Mitte. This is entirely unacceptable; you MUST be more thorough when listing hotels: no one should arrive at a hotel with a confirmed paid reservation only to find the doors shuttered, no staff, and no information.

Wifi didn’t work at all. Ended up using all of my phones data. Asked for help and Irene at front desk was really really helpful. But everyone else was rude and shouldn’t be in service industry. Overall it was an average experience.

Shower room could have had larger shelf for keeping toilet bags. Good that it had a separate make up mirror. Shower force and heat were very good. Liked the eco friendly soap and shower dispensers. Beds were comfortable and room was cosy.

Good budget hotel
Good hotel for a long weekend stay. Small rooms but its a city hotel , tea/coffee in our room as well as a fridge. We booked the comfort room, was on the 5th floor at the back would not of liked to be on the front as i think that would of been quite noisy. Netto very close for essentials close to lots of different restaurants and snack bars. Staff are very helpful ,all done with a smile. The only negative is wifi is poor, but that is a small thing.

Fantastic property. Rooms are very clean, but keep in mind the beds are small, fantastic water as is typical with European hotels. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Excellent options for breakfast.

Clean & Modern in Friedrichshain
The Friedrichshain quarter is alive with young people and this is a good spot for visiting relatives. Lobby is small but rooms are clean and unfussy and a plentiful breakfast buffet can be had for 9 euros per person. Hotel is steps from U-bahn station Samariterstrasse —a short trip from Alexanderplatz. Rooms do get some street noise. Rooms include electric kettles.

Great value modern hotel in Ost Kreuz
Room we had was a little on the small side, but for the money (approx £70/night) this place is excellent! Friendly, helpful staff; clean, well-equipped room and in the perfect location to explore East Berlin by foot or a quick 10 minute U-Bahn from right outside the front door into the city centre. Will definitely use this place again!

Great location right by U Bahn station Samariterstraße 5 stops to Alexanderplatz. Comfortable pillow and beds, great shower. Only criticism is that the Wi-Fi is absolutely hopeless and I ended up using mobile data for most of my stay.

In general, the hotel was very good with a clean room and comfortable beds and friendly helpful staff. The U-Bahn was right outside the door and it was only 5 stops to Alexanderplatz so idea for getting into the centre. There were also lockers to leave you bag after checking out. There were only a couple of downsides. We went in October but it was 22+ degrees so the room was a bit warm and stuffy and the cooling fan was too loud to use overnight. The room was at the back of the hotel, but there were flats close by and with the window open you could hear noise from them.

Hotel is in a great spot for all the bars and restaurants of Friedrichshain plus (literally) right on the U-Bahn. The hotel itself was clean and tidy but a) the room was really hot and the air on didn’t really work abpnd b) we put a do not disturb sign on our door that was removed by the cleaning staff and then cleaned, which was a bit annoying.

Nice efficient compact hotel located within steps of public transit, restaurants and shopping. Comfortable beds with central heating and air conditioning. I had read some reviews of the WIFI being spotty in the property, insider tip: if you are having issues with your WIFI you can go to reception and for a refundable €20 deposit they will loan you a WIFI router for your room that will boost your signal. I personally had no trouble. The breakfast is great and you maybe able to get a discount on the breakfast if you prepay for your entire stay. There is also a grocery store just adjacent to the hotel.

Read a lot of bad reviews about hotel wi-fi, never experienced one problem. Only a couple s-bahn stops from where I needed to go, the velodrom, a few u-bahn stops to Alexanderplatz and all the big department stores. I thought the Best Western hotel Berlin city ost was the perfect location for pretty much anywhere in east Berlin. Very clean room and helpful staff.

Clean hotel, good sized room. Excellent location - the underground U5 stop is right outside. The tram S5 stop is up the road. Next to shops and there's a shopping centre not far up the road. Walked to East Side Gallery in about half an hour. Walked to Berghain in about 40 minutes. Would stay here again.

A lovely hotel not far from Alexanderplatz
The free WiFi is definitely a perk of staying in this hotel. The room size, facilities and friendliness of the staff was excellent. They are fluent in English too. Will be staying here again
