The hotel is spread out over many buildings - we stayed in building 2\. The rooms were dated. The carpet was dirty and there was an old smoke scent in the room. The room is clean, the first sight of the rooms is like a 4 star hotel.. However, the rooms are too small to suit for family vacation. The shower didn't work one day, toilet got stuck everyday, I was waken up by mosquito singing, and got several mosquitoes bites throughout the stay. The main building is the only one to stay in. It is fully renovated and offers a degree of comfort well above the other buildings in this large complex. The bed is far superior and the rooms are large (luxurious). The grounds are very beautiful and if you like jogging, a couple of circuits will cover around 1.5km. There is a western restaurant, but the food is so-so. It is popular with local chinese, which is somewhat surprising. A huge compound with many buildings. We stayed in building 4 Room was reasonably comfortable and fairly large but old. This must once have been a grand place, but that was a long time ago. Located in a suburb very close to a new subway station, but it takes about an hour to go to the center of Beijing (Teinanmen square etc.).
