"Our stay at Vista Paraiso Lodge for New Year's was amazing. The view is super fantastic especially the sunet and the whole place is beautiful since sunrise, many birds singing. My two dogs loved the whole place and William and his wife are very nice and very helpful. Thank you so much, see you soon. Pura Vida!!"

"This property is an oasis. There was fruit growing everywhere. The differences of plants and trees is like nothing we saw while in Costa Rica. Very memorable and our host was very helpful throughout the whole time we were there. FYI when they say you need 4x4 there are not joking around. We had a rental that had 4x4 and the road still made my stomach drop. Worth it if you can get to it."

"From the picture, the property is actually smaller, there is no bbq grill so cooking becomes a problem if you want to cook meet.
The running water was turned on hours after we arrived, and no Hot water at all. Makes taking a shower on rainy days a drag. Not enough pillows or the proper kitchen utensils. And trash was not picked enough, because I was told to put it under the house when full, so wild stray dogs would tear into the bags and drag trash all over yard. They need to get lidded trash...

"Overall excellent. Only (minor) problem was that the first night was pretty cold, and there was no heat in the room. The second night the host provided a ceramic electric heater and that made the cabin very cosy."

"An absolutely amazing cabin in the mountains. I can’t even properly describe how beautiful the stay was. Our host was extremely helpful for our whole stay. Kitchen was great and has what you need, outdoor wood bbq was also great.
It gets cold at night but there are lots of heaters and blankets.
10/10 on everything! "

"This is a 3 star hotel, rooms and bathrooms should be renovated but most importantly the property should have a back up plan for energy cuts. we had a terrible night with no AC due to electricity problems and the property has no back up plan for such an emergency.
On the positive side, breakfast is good and the access to the beach is a plus versus other hotels in the area."
"If you are staying in one of the private pool villas, do not leave without doing the floating breakfast basket. Waking up and having a beautifully arranged breakfast delivered and set afloat in your own private pool, surrounded by jungle and Pacific air, is an experience that is genuinely difficult to put into words. It is indulgent, it is romantic, and it is the kind of memory you carry home with you. Non-negotiable.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out, every single member of the staff treated us like family. They team went above and beyond, not just in service, but in genuine hospitality. They took the time to share local recommendations that turned into some of our favorite memories of the trip.
Jennifer and Nubia delivered one of the most relaxing and beautifully executed massages we’ve ever had. The golf cart team, those guys were exceptional. They made sure we didn’t miss a single animal on the property. A heartfelt thank you to the housekeeping team for keeping our room immaculate every single day. That level of consistency and care does not go unnoticed.
To the owner: bravo. The architectural design, the attention to detail, the seamless blend of luxury and nature — it is clear that every inch of Makanda was designed with intention and love. You have created something truly special. We will be back 🙏💚"
"The rooms and grounds are very clean and well kept, beds comfortable, and the staff all were very kind! The location is convenient for exploring the area. Highlight for us was seeing all the animals, including a sloth, near our room."
"The staff is extraordinary and bend over backwards for you. We were extremely satisfied and would highly recommend. Beautiful resort in a great area. Lots to do."
"Extremely disappointing stay at Villa Rock Boutique Resort. This property advertises itself as a luxury boutique resort, but our experience was far from luxurious.
The pool was out of service, which was one of the main amenities we were looking forward to using. The TV in the room did not work, the internet connection was unreliable and extremely slow, and the room safe repeatedly got stuck, making it frustrating to use.
For the price charged, basic amenities should be fully functional and properly maintained. Unfortunately, the overall condition and service did not match the expectations created by the resort’s marketing. We felt misled by the “luxury” description, as the property lacked the quality, comfort, and attention to detail that a true luxury resort should provide.
I would not recommend this resort to travelers seeking the premium experience that is being advertised."
"Wonderful property! Food at the restaurant is exceptional. Staff are personal and attentive. Pools are refreshing. Monkeys, toucans, macaws, sloth are viewable from the property. Everything you need for an amazing vacation."
