« Very good value for money, everything you need is there including WiFi. Some small areas needing attention but nothing serious. Only downside was building works going on in an attached building, loud banging from 6am. »

« I LOVED Carol. She was welcoming and kind, made an amazing breakfast for me, answered all my questions. A great hostess. My room (12) was super clean and the bed was comfortable. Lots of pillows and extra blankets. Nice big TV. The water pressure was really low but I think that’s typical in older buildings. The garden was peaceful and I enjoyed sitting there in the evening with a glass of wine. Great stay. Traveled from Canada. »

« Room was immaculate . £15 per night to park car at property I found this a bit pricey but parked there anyway . If you want an early check in it’s £25 which once again is very pricey but you can park up and leave your stuff if you don’t want to pay this . If anything the bathroom is on the small side. Bed was very comfy . Would use again »

« Perfect spot to visit York and surroundings. Place is useful. Parking plenty of EV pods. A shopping centre close to the hotel allows all food breaks. »

« We had such a lovely stay at this wonderful B&B. Comfy bed and the room was well equipped with tea and coffee, biscuits, water etc. We had no trouble parking. Breakfast was first class. »

« We stayed at Woodhall hotel and spa for 4 nights in the lodges. There was not much natural light entering the room and noise can be heard from the adjoining room The building could do with some refurbishment The views and gardens are beautiful The staff were really excellent and nothing was too much trouble The food was equally good with some fabulous combinations and flavours and, they have an interesting wine list, if slightly on the pricey side. « A beautiful rural location with wonderful countryside views and nature in abundance in an elegant and very well cared for property. Attention to detail in seen throughout the hotel from arrival in the car park, through a perfectly manicured courtyard and pleasant reception area. My room looked out onto fields . Two large windows that let a lovely breeze into the room. Elegantly decorated room with all you need for a comfortable stay and perfect sleep. The bed was a dream. I slept all night...

« I was not impressed with the customer service I received from the receptionist on duty upon my arrival. She did not greet me upon arrival and did not inform me in advance that the parking machine would not issue a receipt. »

« The rooms are advertised as luxury but in my single room there wasn’t a wardrobe or any coat hangers just a cluster of about three hooks hinged together. The food in the Henry VIII restaurant left a lot to be desired only ate the evening meal there on one occasion out of a 4 night stay, the fish and chips were very fatty and the chips were nearly black. Regards to the breakfast over the 4 mornings the fried eggs were always cremated as was the bacon, on one morning I had a poached egg which...
