Disappointingly bad hostel in a central location

The price was not in relation to the facilities provided. Many aspects of the accommodation were sub-standard, including: - No hot water; - Broken beds; - Broken A/C: would normally not complain but the room was very hot; - Overly crowded streets/too much noise; - Too many stairs: it felt like we were doing an iron man going to our room everyday; - Broken/leaking refrigerator. To top it off, my phone was pickpocketed by someone in the same street the accommodation is located. Be wary of your stuff. There are many thieves and people providing unsollicited goods in this neighbourhood.

Palace Guesthouse was what I expected and more. We had everything we needed and also received great recommendations from the staff. I would most definitely recommend staying here.

Top locatie en verblijf

Ik heb hier 5 dagen met een vriendin verbleven tijdens onze stedentrip. We hebben een fantastische tijd gehad. - De jongen (Mehdi) die alles daar regeld is ontzettend behulpzaam en gastvrij. - mooi monumentaal pand, ruim opgezet. - De kamer was ruim en schoon. - De kamer was goed te luchten met heerlijk openslaande deuren. Ook fijn dat er een kledingkast was, een bureautje en voldoende stopcontacten. - Heerlijke douche met een goede straal, deze werd overigens samen met de toilet dagelijks schoongemaakt door een vriendelijke schoonmaker. - bedden goed opgemaakt en de handdoeken zijn zacht en fris. Kortom we hebben hier een top verblijf gehad. Zeker omdat ook nog eens alles zo centraal gelegen lag en dus op loopafstand was. Ik kom hier zeker terug!

Die Unterkunft liegt mitten in der Altstadt. Es war deshalb oft laut am Abend im Zimmer. Dafür war die zentrale Lage ein super Ausgangspunkt für Unternehmungen (Cafés, Restaurants, Läden, Metro,...). Ansonsten klappte alles gut. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich.

Great neighborhood. Friendly staff.

Great place for the price. Clean, comfortable, hot water, cool restaurants nearby, etc. Only negative is the stairs (about 95), but that was really the only thing I didn't like. Stayed there for three nights and really loved it.

Perfect location dose not make up for the place

Would not stay here again or recommend to anyone. You could stay in a budget chain hotel for the same price!! Room has bed, clothes rail, lamp and ceiling fan (with broken light fitting). Was made to sing a strict contract upon arrival. To sum it up stay somewhere else!!

Im interessantesten Viertel gelegen....

....ist das Hostel sehr sauber, das Personal ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Preise sind günstig. Da unser Zimmer kein Tageslichtfenster hatte, wollten wir außer Schlafen und Duschen nicht länger als nötig im Haus verweilen. Insgesamt haben wir zu zweit fünf Nächte dort verbracht. Fazit: Wer nur eine Übernachtungsgelegenheit in Fußgängernähe zu den schönsten Gassen und Plätzen mit gepflegter Kultur und Gastronomie sucht, dem empfehlen wir das Hostel.

Good location

You have to email or call reception to get inside the building. It's a good location but the nightlife outdoor is really loud because evenings in Barcelona start late. So if your planning on living the nightlife in Barcelona then it's perfect.

super locatie in een oud gedateerd woonhuis in het midden van de gotische wijk. Wel wat gehorig door de smalle straatjes, maar ook de charmes van hoe men daar woont en leeft. ik heb genoten van de sfeer en het gewone straatleven...

Nur der Eingangsbereich im Treppenhaus war schön

Wir haben am ersten Tag eine Abstellkammer für 112 € für zwei Personen bewohnt. Konnten am nächsten Tag in ein Zimmer wechseln das wenigstens zwei Bilder an der Wand hatte. Die Zimmer sind maximal 40 € für zwei Personen wert. 20 € werden als Deposit für die Schlüssel hinterlegt was man wieder bekommt. Die Handtücher kosten sechs Euro wobei wir da nichts zahlen mussten. Gut das wir den ganzen Tag unterwegs waren und erst am Abend zurückgekehrt sind. Fünf Nächte haben wir gebucht. Richtig viel Freude hatten wir in diesem Hostel nicht! Alles sehr spartanisch.

Hübsches hostel in der Altstadt

Rigtig ideelt til en ferie i byen pga beliggenhed

Meget centralt beliggende område. Værelset var dejligt mørkt i dagstimerne/morgen. Der er kun en fane på værelset, som larmer hvis man vil have den til at blæse om natten. Venligt personale. Anbefalelsesværdigt.

Extremely hot room. Uncomfortable beds. As checking out found a bug we believed to be a bed bug. We only saw one and no other signs of bed bugs. Management said unlikely as new flat. Gentleman helping us check in was great!

The room is very sober (it contains only a bed, a metal bar for clothes, and a small night table).  There is not even a possibility to boil water. The floor was sticky. When we had questions the person behind the desk was not very friendly. The price we paid is too expensive for the quality of the room.

Not a bad spot

Beautiful building! Rooms where great, bathroom had a few problems with old equipment but nothing serious. It would be an awesome place if it had a kitchen. Well it does have a kitchen but your not allowed to use it.. Just to make a coffee or tea before bed. Also there could be a little more info at reception about the area. We enjoyed our stay but could change a few things.
