First, the staff was great, very friendly and helpful! The property is clean, the room was clean, but a horrible sewer smell in the bathroom. We reserved a double bed room, to our surprise it waa two single beds put together and not very comfortable for 2 people. The window we had was shaded out, so NO light came in our room which was dissapointing, and it opened to a utility area, so there were so many bugs we could not open it, and the room was very dark and stuffy. The location was great and near everything. The breakfast was good, we only ate the buffet once, but it was worth the 16E a piece. If I stayed there again I would request an outside facing room with one bed, if they have them.

Regarding the double beds, they cannot be reserved in advance, as there are few in the hotel and they are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, however, if they become available during your stay, they are offered to you in case you would like to change rooms. This hotel is very basic. There’s no A/C so you have to open windows; but the let in noise and smell of cigarette smoke!! The bed is uncomfortable and the rooms are small. The description on Expedia was misleading and they charge way too much for what you get. The staff is nice.

Lovely little property right in the heart of the Gothic district. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The room is somewhat small but nothing to complain about. Room and bathroom are well kept, clean and modern. Access is easy to everything Barcelona offers is easy and walkable. If the metro is required, there are several stations within a 10 min walk.

We were after a central location for our first trip and Hotel Gotico was perfect! There are lots of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops on the doorstep and within walking distance to the beach. Every staff member was really helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a better hotel.

Staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Location is excellent, easy to walk to many beautiful different sights. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Room was clean and comfortable. Can’t say enough good things about this place, will definitely go back next time I’m there.

The wife and I were SO happy to have found Hotel Gótico! Extremely kind, helpful and welcoming staff. The room was clean, really nice, and far exceeded our expectations. The location was incredible—well within walking distance to the metro, surrounded by good restaurants and shops, and great sites on our bucket list while in Barcelona. Thank you!

Great!
Place was great! No complaints other than the bed was slightly rough and there was no a/c (it was cold outside so leaving the balcony door open for about 20 minutes did the fix) but overall staff was great and place was bigger than i thought it would be. Pictures made the room look tiny. Also I loved how close everything was to the hotel, if you plan on using the metro and bus then this is definitely a great location as the hotel is right next to the metro!

Regarding the air conditioning, in Barcelona in December, temperatures are already cold, and the use of air conditioning is not common. Our hotel complies with thermal comfort standards and environmental regulations for hotels of its category. However, if it did not suit your preferences, we are glad that opening the window to let in the cold air from outside helped achieve your desired temperature for comfort.Regarding the perceived roughness of the bed, we understand that you may be referring to the sheets, which are made of cotton and should not have any roughness. Nevertheless, we regret that they were not comfortable for you. The Hotel Gòtic is a must-stay hotel. The desk personnel are extremely courteous and helpful. From the first moment I felt a great feeling of hospitality. The room featured a beautiful bathroom with plenty of hot water in the shower. The double bed was very comfortable. The lighting was perfect at the desk, by the bed, and in the bath. A in every way.

Room A/C didn’t work and asked for help at the front desk and they said they shut down for season???? Only option is open the window and we did me and my wife got bunch of goddamm mosquito bites, this so called 4 star hotel no A/C for the guest that’s is low, I’ll never come back and you should go here.

The service was impeccable, from the front desk staff to the housekeeping. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve had in a long while, amazing selection and quality. We found the beds very firm for our liking, but after getting a second set of pillows we managed just fine. Overall you can’t possibly get a better location for your stay!

I was a little bit worried before going cuz I know that 4 star hotels can be pretty run down in Europe. Was pleasantly surprised with this hotel though. Lobby was nice, staff was pleasant, room was small but not tiny. Air conditioning worked good unlike in the other hotels we stayed. Minor things like loose piece of tile on the floor in our room or no room survive at night due to lack of stuff didn’t discourage me..: good hotel, great location, pleasant employees!!!

We stay for 2 nights. The first night we went straight to sleep after dinner. The next morning when we were going out for breakfast at the hotel their were one very big cockroach their on the floor and moving very fast toward elevator. my wife scream. I notify the person at the customer service and he says he will take care of it right away. What he did afterword i don't know

there was blood on my pillow case ...enough said. very rude night audit as well. i actually left the property and stayed in ibiza because I felt so disgusted by the treatment I received. I also wanted laundry service and they were extremely unhelpful and rude to me when I rwuested this service

I booked the hotel for two nights and wanted to make a change to my reservation. I called multiple times and as soon as they heard that I need to make a change they hang up on me. We end up at the hotel for one night but because our flight was delayed and we arrived at 1 am they said they didn’t had a room for us … we had to wait a long time and a call to supervisor to get a room.

The only reason for the overall rating of 3 stars was the room size, room location and the heat in the room. Pros - location, staff are great, everything in walking distance, breakfast was great. Cons - the room was much smaller than I was expecting (even after expecting a small room) and was really (really) hot when we arrived and the aircon wasn't very effective. The room was in the elevator lobby area which was really noisy so needed earplugs to sleep.

The hotel was good. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was yummy. 2 small bottles of water were provided initial day. What I did not like was the following: pillows were not soft. Bedding was not soft. No coffee for the coffee maker. Not sure why we had a coffee maker if they were not providing coffee. And very dark stairs with no lighting. But there were other stairs with lighting. Price was good though.
