#### Swim, soak up the sun and relax at exclusive clubs at this popular beach on the west coast of the Salento Peninsula.

Baia Verde Beach is a great spot for a change of scenery from the historic attractions of Gallipoli. Its thin stretch of powdery sand slopes gently down to the crystalline water of the Ionian Sea. Baia Verde Beach is a family-friendly area ideal for passing idle days in the sun, swimming in safe water and enjoying picturesque sunsets.

The beach is divided into public access areas and private clubs. There’s plenty of room to lay down a towel or set up a sun lounge and umbrella. Find a quiet spot, take a seat and gaze out across the glistening water. Look north toward the rooftops of Gallipoli’s historic center and spot the nearby, low-lying Isola Sant’Andrea.

Be sure to go for a rejuvenating swim in the enticing sea. The calm, clean and shallow water makes the beach popular among families with young children. Hang around long enough to observe as the sun drifts down and casts a mystical light across the bay.

Visit one of the beach clubs to benefit from a range of services. Drink in the scenery from the comfort of a lounge terrace while sipping on cocktails. Dine on succulent seafood dishes at the clubs’ restaurants, sheltered from the sun by gazebos. Stay until the evening, when bands and DJs entertain the crowds and you can dance beneath a starlit sky.

Further to the beach’s adored daytime activities, its coastal road is peppered with open-air nightclubs. Party until the early hours with a mix of locals and tourists. 

Baia Verde Beach is just a 15-minute drive from Gallipoli’s historic old town. Free parking is available along the coastal road. Bear in mind that the spaces closest to the beach fill up fast during the summer months. You can also catch a train from the town to Gallipoli Baia Verde station and then walk for about 15 minutes to the beach.
