The best area to stay in Ayalán is along the beachfront of the Ruta del Spondylus, particularly near the main town area.

This stretch of coastline offers direct access to the Pacific Ocean, with hotels and resorts often featuring private beach access and ocean views. The area around the town centre provides easy access to local eateries, small shops, and the main pier where fishing boats come and go. It's a relaxed setting, superb for enjoying the natural beauty of the Ecuadorian coast.

Couples looking for a tranquil escape will find the beachfront properties ideal. Many resorts offer amenities like infinity pools, spa services, and fine dining, allowing for a pampered and peaceful holiday. The sound of the waves and the stunning sunsets create a romantic backdrop for a memorable trip.

For families, staying close to the main town area offers convenience. The beach here is generally calm, suitable for children to play, and there are often activities like horseback riding or boat trips available.

The best time to go to Ayalán is during the dry season, which typically runs from June to December.

During these months, you'll experience consistently sunny weather and pleasant temperatures, making it ideal for enjoying the beaches and outdoor activities. The ocean is generally calmer during this period, which is superb for swimming, snorkelling, and boat trips. It's also a great time for wildlife spotting, particularly for marine birds.

For those looking to enjoy the coastal activities without the peak crowds, the shoulder months of June, July, September, and October offer excellent weather with fewer visitors. This can mean a more relaxed experience at popular spots and potentially better availability for accommodation and excursions.

If you're planning a trip around specific events or holidays, it's worth noting that the dry season also coincides with some local festivities, which can add a cultural dimension to your visit.
