We felt we were quite literally staying in a palaces our room was superb, as were the hotel facilities, particularly the rooftop terrace and breakfast room. But it was the staff that truly shined brightest. There were — uniformly — the friendliest, most efficient, and responsive hotel staff we have ever encountered.

Well worth the cost of a luxury hotel. Staff and amenities were far above average. Breakfast was an unexpected spectacular surprise and very good. Highly recommend for staff courtesy, cleanliness, quality of food, location, parking availability and recommendations for finding local spots to visit

Awesome staff, great location. Best breakfast we've had in Portugal. Rooftop sitting area was a treat. Very comfortable room, excellent bedding. Shower had plenty of water pressure and good temperature.

Very beautiful unique boutique hotel
We stayed one night in this hotel. This is a magnificent and memorable property. The decor is very artsy and beautiful, unlike any other hotel we have seen. The bedroom was very spacious and beautifully appointed and the bathroom was beautiful, a bit on the smaller side and very clean. The staff at reception is very kind and helpful. Parking is not too far away in an underground parking garage, free of charge. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had a great rest. Breakfast was plentiful and amazing. The staff at breakfast was also super kind and accommodating. There was a lot to choose from and it was served. The location of the hotels is fantastic, and all sightseeing attractions, shopping and dining is within easy walking distance. We loved our stay at this hotel and can highly recommend it due to its spectacular ambiance and kind staff. We would definitely return and stay here again. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely suite that was very comfortable! The hotel was convenient to several places of interest, and we had parking in the shopping center across the street. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. The staff were friendly and very helpful to us in making suggestions and reservations for restaurants. We loved Aveiro so we expect to visit again, and we'll consider staying at the 1877 Estrela Palace again.

Hotel is beautiful and I loved the idea of this boutique hotel having its doors locked and me having a key. Rooms are beautiful and large. Staff is amazing and went beyond the normal. They leave pastries as a welcome and chocolate at the reception desk, water, and port wine. Water pressure was great and place was super clean. Premium bedding. Location is fabulous and food suggestions were right on. I never write reviews and travel often. 10 out of 10 and I’m very picky. Breakfast was wonderful, a boys I did not expect. Book this place you won’t be sorry. I’ll be back

While the boutique hotel itself has a wonderful staff and accommodations were elegantly appointed, the room we had was oddly designed and in the shape of a narrow hall leading to a small bedroom. Definitely cozy but needs to be rethought. Room door opens to the shower and toilet is next to a sink in before you hit the bed. Not my favorite. Needs towel hooks as well. Hopefully the other rooms are better.

There was nowhere to park to unload your luggage. I had to circle around the city twice to unload. The place is beautiful.

Professional kind friendly helpful wonderful staff! Helped with restaurant recommendations, location of sites etc. Delicious buffet breakfast. Beautiful rooftop area with amazing views. Great views from our small room. There is no onsite parking, but they provide information for free parking underground at a shopping mall across the street and on the other side of a canal.

From the start the ladies that welcomed us were inviting, knowledgeable, and wanting to anticipate our every need ! I have never before felt so important at a hotel! Fabulous hotel and staff
Fabulous hotel! Gorgeous rooms and suites. The staff was beyond wonderful, always helpful, friendly, and smiling. What wonderful girls!!! Extremely comfortable everything. I will always stay here when in Aveiro! I cannot recommend enough.

This is a totally refurbished hotel. It in the center of the city of Aveiro. The breakfast and lounge area was beautiful. Our hotel room was actually a suite with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. We are a couple married 42 years, we DID Not need the extra bedroom. There is something a little “off” about this hotel. Not quite as advertised. The parking is across the street underground and is VERY TIGHT parking. It doesn’t quite make it, but they are trying….

A must stay in Aveiro!
The staff was so lovely, the hotel was beautiful- and right next to a highly rated hotel that was booked. I’ve never been so grateful to not have my first choice. This was a one of a kind place to stay. An old residence that has been converted to rooms, and if you are lucky enough to secure one of the six - especially a suite do so!!

Every inch of the property has been impeccably decorated. Absolutely stunning, very spacious rooms and beautiful breakfast. Be careful, as you will rather stay in your room than visit the city!!

A perfect stay.
A stunning hotel with lots of charm in a perfect location close to wonderful restaurants and all the attractions. The only thing better than the hotel was the attentiveness and hard working staff who made everything perfect.

Stay here if you like the smell of sewage.
Upon entering the hotel, the smell was overpowering. Perfume was used to cover up through the rest of hotel. The doors are always locked, and you need to knock to get in. Shower and toilet are bizarrely laid-out in room. No hotel/street parking. Have to lug bags to (locked) hotel. Location was great. Breakfast was fine.

A true palacial experience.
Unbelievably beautiful and unique. Very new and well kept. Had the suite with the balcony and couldn’t have asked for more. The staff is amazing and catered to every need. Even acted as a concierge and booked reservations for us and provided tickets to the boat tour out front which we paid at checkout. Breakfast was included and amazingly simple and perfect. Rooftop bar was fantastic.
