Disappointing stay compared with last year. Last year, we booked an ocean-view 2 bedroom apartment and were given one on the ocean side of the building facing the ocean. We were really happy with our stay, so we rebooked the most expensive ocean-view category this year, expecting a similar room. Unfortunately, we were given a much smaller room on the side of the building, with a limited ocean view. The floor was also dirty when we arrived. There are only two lifts serving the entire 30-floor building, which was just manageable last year. However, one lift was broken throughout our entire stay this year. As a result, we spent a lot of time waiting for a lift, which was often already full when it arrived. Parking was also a significant issue. On two occasions, we arrived at around 7:00 pm and found that there were no parking spaces available for hotel guests. We then had to drive around and try to find parking somewhere outside the hotel in Surfers Paradise. This was very inconvenient and added further frustration to our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the room, parking, the lift and and facilities did not match what we expected when rebooking.
