Zeulenroda-Triebes
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (137 reviews)
"The spa, gym, and lake views are excellent. The hotel has a very 90's feel and no room service (this was a bummer as we had a lake view room and wanted to stay in and relax). The beirgarten by the water has excellent food, although it closes at 930pm (as does the only restaurant on site (a buffet). The place was comfortable for 1 dayx the lake location and sauna were exactly what we wanted"

Promenaden Hotel
Gera
8.4 out of 10, Very good, (24 reviews)
"This is a beautiful old hotel property. It has great bones and the rooms have been updated and modernized nicely. That said, there are some very quirky aspects to the property. Firstly, there is no reception - just an automated machine that provides a key card. This means that there is no one to ask about parking, amenities etc. The second thing is that no one speaks English at all. The cleaning staff was very sweet but could not speak a word. We had to use Google Translate for all...

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Auma?
The best area to stay in Auma is within the town centre, particularly around the Markt (market square).

This central area offers a pleasant experience with its historic buildings and easy access to local amenities. The Markt itself is a focal point, often hosting local events or markets, and you'll find a selection of local shops and eateries branching off from it. The town hall is also located here, adding to the area's character.

For couples seeking a quiet and convenient base, staying near the Markt is ideal. You'll be within walking distance of local attractions like the Stadtkirche St. Anna (St. Anna Town Church) and can enjoy leisurely strolls through the town's historic lanes. It's an excellent spot for experiencing the local pace of life and enjoying traditional Thuringian hospitality.

Families will also find the town centre suitable. The proximity to local parks and open spaces, often just a short walk from the Markt, provides opportunities for children to play.
When is the best time to go to Auma?
The best time to visit Auma, Thuringia, Germany, is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant for outdoor activities and exploring.

During these months, you'll experience mild temperatures, fewer crowds, and the natural beauty of the Thuringian countryside is at its peak. May and June offer blooming flowers and lush green landscapes, great for walking or cycling through the region's trails.

For those who enjoy a slightly cooler climate and the beauty of changing leaves, September and October are ideal. The autumn colours in the surrounding forests are quite lovely, and it's a good time for enjoying local festivals if any are scheduled.

While summer (July and August) is also popular, it can be warmer and busier with local holidaymakers.
