Very spacious holiday house a short drive from Auckland. Close yet secluded, serene and a place to be enjoyed by all. Comfortably accommodates 12 guests. The home is just a few steps to Waiwera Beach which is quite safe for the kids for either long walks, swims or just simply lying on the beach watching native woodpigeons across the river in the Wenderholm Regional Park’s native forests perhaps even catch a glimpse of Kawahi jumping out of the water. Bring along your kayak / boat, fishing or snorkelling gear and paddle either upriver or down into white sandy Waiwera estuary and cove, great fishing and snorkelling just off and around Mahurangi Island. (Walk to the Mahurangi Island possible at low tide). In the event the weather packs in, all is not lost as relax in the mineral spa or take the days swimming activities into Waiwaera Thermal and Spa Resort using our discount vouchers perhaps even spoil yourself with a massage or beauty makeover, or simply light up and relax by the fireplace with heaps of books, board games or movies provided. Plenty of off-street parking available as well as safe no traffic 10 meter crossing to beach via adjacent park like reserve. Waiwera Hot Pools / Thermal Spa Resort and Waiwera Spa Beauty and Massage Clinic are just a short walk from the bach (Please note that the Thermal Pools are currently closed for Maintenance but the house itself has a Geo-Thermal Mineral Pool for guests use). Orewa, Silverdale, Whangaparaoa or Warkworth townships are only minutes away for dining, exploring or shopping. Special conditions: No Smoking inside house. Not a party house. 50% deposit required for booking confirmation plus $500 refundable bond. In the event that the house is not cleaned, a $200 cleaning fee will apply. The BBQ when used should be cleaned properly otherwise a $30 cleaning fee will apply. Visitors should avoid excessive noise and activities that may cause nuisance to neighbors, other guests and wildlife. 3 night minimum stay applies for booking over long weekends or public holidays. We tried everything to get them out but had to barge into the room to get them as they were seriously distressed. The owner then accused us of breaking the door maliciously (even though she said this has happened before!) and just took our deposit. She has not responded to our follow ups, and has made slanderous charges straight to bookabach calling us all sorts of things to justify withholding our deposit. We are a simple low-key family group catching up with elderly parents who wanted to save our kids who were permanently deadbolted in the room. Jan 8, 2022 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Perfect beachside get away This was a very large house which perfectly suited our needs for the three families we had stay. Lots of books and toys that the kids spent themselves occupied with. Great location right on the beach, was so lovely to be a stones throw away with all the kids different nap times. The house did get SUPER hot though so would recommend taking lots of decent fans as it was hard to put the kids down at 7pm in the sweltering summer heat. The thermal spa worked a treat when it rained one day during our stay and was easy to use. 4 showers and toilets meant we didnt have to wait hours for everyone to get ready so was awesome to have our own bathrooms. Water pressure on top floor was almost non existent when the other showers were going (not a surprise though for an older house and certainly not a major!). Jun 30, 2021 Liked: Check-in, communication, location #### PERFECT FOR FAMILIES The property is so close to the beach you could sit on the front porch and watch your family playing in the sand (at low tide of course) It has had fair bit of wear & tear but perfect space for everyone including a large area for children to play inside. The house is a bit of a maze and finding the appropriate light switches was a bit challenging, but everything was well cared for, clean, fresh, well equipped and spacious, so we found our way around everything in the end.
