The entire region is alive with ancient history, culture, and amazing natural beauty. Uniquely fascinating archaeological sites, traditional Greek tavernas, and of course the magnificent turquoise waters washing over the beaches of the Saronic Gulf combine to create an truly inspiring scene. Actually, the whole area around Lavrio could be characterized as a huge archaeological site, bursting with history, from its ancient monuments, temples and theatre -in fact the oldest in Greece-, to it's prehistoric mines. This is where the giant columns of the renowned temple of Poseidon at nearby Sounion were excavated. The Silver mines which date back to prehistoric times and are believed to be the oldest in the world, proudly accept their place in history, given that they financed the fleet with which the ancient Athenians defeated the Persians, and funded the construction of the Acropolis amongst many other monuments of the Golden Age of Athens. And as if this was not enough, the port of Lavrio provides direct access to a multitude of Greek Cycladian islands, ideal for one-day excursions and even further cultural adventures... The villa it self, built on a slope, boasts a marvelous view from every one of its three tiers. The main outdoor area is complete with a large patio and dining area, swimming pool and stone barbecue, all surrounded by dense local vegetation ranging from grape vines to fig and pomegranate trees. All of course overlooked by the spacious verandas on every floor. The indoors of the villa are simply a treat and a pleasure. The three floors connected with a winding staircase boast 2 large living rooms, 2 dining areas, 4 bedrooms, a bar and of course a fully equipped kitchen, capable of accommodating any and all of your experimentations with Greek cuisine, should you wish to make use of the traditional ingredients, herbs and spices found locally. All and every corner, piece of furniture, and decoration of this marvellous villa is brushed with exquisite taste and meticulous detail. Chaque chambre est climatisée, l’espace repas extérieur est ombragé toute la journée ce qui est fort appréciable. Le terrain de la propriété vous permettra de garer votre/vos véhicules. Concernant l’environnement, il est d’un calme Olympien, vous aurez de quoi pratiquer quelques randonnées dans la colline, la maison se trouvant dans les hauteurs de Lavrio. Nous n’avons pas rencontré Pepy mais avons eu affaire à Helena qui gère la relation avec les voyageurs et qui habite à côté de la maison. Helena a été hyper disponible, de très bon conseil et qui nous a organisé nos rendez-vous pour les test PCR du retour! Es ist komplett eingerichtet und es fehlt wirklich nichts. The villa was easy to find, the owner Natassa was lovely and there was everything that we needed there. We hired a car and were surprised how quiet the roads were and relatively easy to drive around.The villa was beautiful, with a fantastic view of the sea from the garden and both the balconies.We ate breakfast on the patio every morning, which we can not do very often in the UK! The pool was very clean and great to take a dip in if you got too hot in the sun.We would definitely recommend this to everyone, but you do need a car to get around.We visited the Acropolis, the Posidon temple, Lavrium and a must is Kape beach - absolutely stunning! The locals and people everywhere were very warm, welcoming and helpful. We love Greece! ##### Tina B. The owners meet us at the villa and gave us a tour and spent time with us and then took us to the market to get groceries. Villa was equipped with everything needed for a family vacation in Greece. Communication was outstanding with both the property manager leading up to our travel and also the gracious hosts, Mrs. Pepy and her husband, They greeted us at the property to show us around and to ensure that we were comfortable upon arrival. If we had questions during our stay, they were quick to respond. The location was exactly what we had hoped for. Peaceful, a brief drive to the adorable village in Lavrio and the port with easy access for a day trip to explore Kea by ferry. Close enough to Athens so that we could spend time sightseeing. The villa and the pool are beautifully maintained and the landscape is breathtaking. The villa has plenty of sitting areas for sipping coffee, having family meals, inside or outside or just to gaze out over the sea in the distance. There are many beautiful places to stay in Greece, but this property is very special. Our hosts made this experience even more memorable and we left feeling as though we have new family in Greece. The villa was exactly the villa we had chosen from the pictures on VRBO- if anything it exceeded expectations. We particularly enjoyed that it felt like a family home unlike the usual rental. The pool was beautifully clean and we loved the garden and being able to pick fresh figs for breakfast. Alex at VRBO answered all my questions perfectly before the trip and when we met Pepy and her husband they could not have been more helpful. The villa is very well equipped, spacious and cleen, in a quiet location but only 5 minute drive to closest town Lavrio where one can find plenty of shops and different kind of restaurants. Many nice beaches are in close distance, in 15 minutes you have many beaches to choose. Upon arrival Mrs Pepy an her husband were waiting for us and giving a short introduction to the house and surroundings. The house has three floors which we found very handy, adults sleeping in two first floor and all the kids sharing the upper floor. The pool was clean and big enough for a bigger group also. I would recommend this villa for everyone wishing a relaxing holiday far enough from city hassle but close enough for everything you may need. It is perfect for a family holiday, it is clean and well equipped with plenty of space. The pool and outside area are great, we spent all our time out there. The location is amazing with a short drive down to the town of Lavrio which has a selection of shops and some really good restaurants. Also it is only a short drive to many lovely beaches and the Temple of Posidon. And to top it off the host was amazing and couldn't do enough to help us. We had a great time in Greece and really enjoyed our time in the villa. It's very spacious, perfect for our family of 4 and could easily fit 8 people as all the rooms are a good size. The pool is very clean and well maintained and is situated in a very quiet oasis surrounded by trees. A car is essential as the nearest town/shops are 4km downhill towards the coast and there are incredible beaches only 30-40 mins drive away. The property is ideal for such a set up. It is very spacious, lots of balconies with great views, rooms on separate floors that allow for privacy but also large communal spaces. The beds especially were comfortable with a good view of the country side. Not too far away from the town with a great selection of bakeries although we frequent the bakery suggested by the owners. Pepy and her husband were very welcoming, met us in Lavrio and guided us to their villa even though it was late evening. The only downside was the bugs leaving us with bites and itching, this was a problem this year due to the humidity. The best way to relieve the itching was to submerge ourselves in the swimming pool, the pool well situated , beautifully clean and very easily accessed.
