Unjustifiable prices
Undoubtedly a lovely hotel but grabs your money at every opportunity. Internet is extra and expensive. No kettle in the rooms so tea or coffee requires room service. Limited minibar. I'm sorry but I won't be going back !

True Athens Rivera - private crystal beach
This is a really special place. Firstly the Lemos area of Kavouri is not like any other part of Athens - it is like the garden of Eden of Athens - true Athens Riviera. secondly i cant comment on the main hotel because we stayed in a bungalow suite - this is really special because it was bigger than our apartment in Bristol - marble bath tub sunk into the ground, balconies with deck chairs and walk down to crystal clear waters of the private beach.

Amazing hotel, steps to an stellar beach!
I loved every day and every moment I stayed at Astir Palace. If you like a stellar 5 star hotel with access to great food, people, shopping and shuttles into the city of Athens...it's well worth the price.

Nice hotel but expected more
Preferred the Westin Astir which is in the same complex. It's a nice hotel but nothing special in my own eyes and dinner was super expensive for what you get in return.

An Exceptional Stay and Experience!
The hotel stay was exceptional. The staff was wonderful. The rooms had the greatest views, clean and comfortable. The food was great. The resort was a "5 Star"! We flew into Athens that day and went directly to the hotel and the check in after a long flight was smooth, pleasant and quick. Watching the sunset made our first day in Greece very special. Highly recommended.

The Arion was a pleasure. We stayed here for our first few days in Athens and enjoyed the pampering. The Hotel staff was AMAZING. The facilities were fantastic. Dinner at sunset at Mastuhisa was perfect. Looking forward to our next stay!

Loved this resort. A perfect place to get away from Athens proper. We stayed here prior to a cruise, got acclimated, toured Athens and embarked on our journey. The restaurants were great, the staff delightful and the scenery just beautiful.

We stayed for 2 nites before leaving for a cruise. It was a perfect way to chat jet lag and experience a resort a mere 30 minutes from Athens. We toured the city prior to embarking on the ship. A perfect way to start a great vacation.

Short stay at Arion
The hotel was beautiful and overall I had a fantastic experience. When we arrived the reception was very chaotic and no one seemed to notice we were there. Furthermore, we arrived a little early and left our bags on the reception for a check in at 3pm where they promised to call us once the room is ready. We never received the call and had to go back to reception to get an update. I am not sure whether the team was short staffed or there were some operational issues but in comparison to the other hotels at the same spec the service has been a lot more alert and helpful. We finally checked in the room- this was 45 min late and it was unfortunate as we had a wedding to go to and it meant that we had a delay. The room had few things missing but it was probably because they did not have enough time to set it up. Apart from the chaotic reception, the hotel and the facilities were beautiful and comfortable. The bar staff was absolutely lovely and very sympathetic and so were the beach staff. Regardless of the reception service, I would go back and it was a beautiful couple of days. I would reccomend the place but just to keep an open mind on the responsiveness of the reception.

5 STAR HOTEL IN 1950, NOT SO IN 2015!
I asked to be moved to the sister hotel next door called The Westin, as The Arion Hotel needed renovation urgently. The mattress had permanent dents. The bed pillows were all but destroyed. The interior was classic 50's decor which had shown wear and tear and and hadn't been maintained. The guests were very, very old. The hotel felt in desperate need for an over-haul. Even the staff were beyond retirement age. My first impression at check-in was with a cold, disinterest from a young (compared to the other seniors working at the hotel) receptionist who proceeded mechanically and emotinless to check me into my room without hardly any eye to eye contact. Then, when ready to be shown my room after a long and exhausting trip to Athens, was handed my room key and and pointed in the direction of the lift, luggage and all! The Arion Resort and Spa Hotel, is NOT a luxury 5 star hotel in 2015! Maybe it was in 1950?

This is a beautiful resort by the sea.
We rented two bungalows, and they were spacious and had fantastic views of the sea. There are a bunch of yummy restaurants that you can dine at each day for all meals. The staff are very nice and helpful.

Food in the hotel is pricy and not very good. It is a bit surprising as there are so many good restaurants near by. Staff at reception is professional and helpful. View from the rooms and lobby is beautiful and hotel decoration and design is pleasant.

Luxurious break
We are regulars at this hotel as we love the luxury of the area and hotel amenities. Only area that they still haven't got quite right is the pool & towel service by the Arion pool. The rest of the stay is superb, comfortable, clean rooms, beautiful vistas, great restaurants, ambient bar and live entertainment in the evenings - very nice.

It is a great hotel in an amazing location.. There is room for improvement as the service is lagging behind compared to similar hotels. Staff seem to be in need for further training and perhaps motivation. I would go back as it offers great facilities for families.

Beautiful resort in a beautiful location
The Arion Resort is in an absolutely beautiful location, the views are spectacular. The hotel is maintained beautifully and offers everything you could want. Cocktails at the hotel bar and at the beach are delicious but quite pricey. The room was large, the bed very comfortable, the bathroom was nicer than any I've seen Europe - the shower was excellent! Housekeeping could have been better. Our bed was just pulled up, the pillows weren't even fluffed, the room not vacuumed and turndown service only came once in our three night stay. The resort is in a very isolated area and not in walking distance to anything. The hotel offers a shuttle service to various locations in Athens but you just have to know about it. The shuttle service/schedule isn't really advertised anywhere, neither is the business center in the lobby which offers computers with internet service. I found the wait staff to be aloof and always in a hurry in the restaurants except when it came to serving the locals. I did get the feeling that the resort caters more to local travelers than it does to tourists. Despite the negatives, I would go back - the resort and beach area are beautiful.

Perfect weekend getaway!
A friend & I visited for 3 nights recently and this hotel was simply fabulous. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Ioauna (not sure of the spelling) was just amazing! She was so welcoming and friendly; she always had a smile for us anytime we saw her, day or night. It was incredibly refreshing to see someone go above & beyond for their customers. Alexandro's in the bar was also just wonderful. He was so sweet and courteous that we decided to go back the next night! The Italian restaurant was very good as well. The service was outstanding and tho they had a very difficult family that was constantly fighting (both times we visited), the staff was professional and really made the dining experience one to remember. Overall, it was a wonderful visit to Athens and I would definitely stay here again. I would hope that prior to prime season repairs are made to the walkways by the beach. Seeing it in disrepair was the only flaw in our stay.

Arion - contained luxury
the rooms are luxurious and so is the hotel itself. drinks at the hotel bar are scarily expensive (event to a Chelsea resident!). didn't eat dinner there but breakfast was of utmost quality. the swimming pool is large. we were there in April so couldnt swim much as the water was freezing. could really do with a jacuzzi hot tub! the gym facilities are good. not much happening outside of the hotel. so not great for joggers the beach front is tiny

I was treated so kindly,as a single elder women I found everyone so helpful.The breakfast was oh so wonderful,with a superb selection of fresh fruits,and when I came in every morning they would greet you so kindly. The only drawback I could find was the bed,the mattress was lumpy and kept seperating as it was twins put togather. I would return there again,if the opportunity arose,everything was kept so wonderfully clean,and fresh...

Best location for holiday away from the center but close to Glyfada one of the best areas in Athens and very close to the traditional taverns in Vari. Hotel stuff very friendly, we were impresed... there arent so many places left like this in the whole Greece, unfortunately...

5 star hotel 1 star service
A very nice hotel, great views, nice room, but the service was horrendous!!!!!!!! When we arrived we were questioned by the doorman, that evening in the bar our drinks menu was literally thrown at us, the breakfast staff were just awful, we ate at the sister hotel next door (The Westin) and both nights we had to send our food back, though give the head waiter his due he did apologise and offer us complimentary food. All in all a 5 star hotel with a 1 star service.

Beautiful vistas, relaxing lovely hotel.
This is a low key hotel with understated charm. Staff are lovely and hellpful but do not rush. So if you are use to fast paced cities, this will help you to slow down and enjoy your stay. The views are stunning. Definately go for a view of the sea. Garden view is close to a busy street. Having access to the Westin next door is handy. They have a terrific pool. Only downside - food was expensive but you can easily walk out and go to other restuarants roughly 15 minutes away.

Lovely Hotel within a short distance of the city
I have recently returned from a lovely break in Athens staying at the Arion Hotel and Spa with my husband and one year old daughter. My main points are: Comfort- The hotel has all the amenities you could ask for for someone desiring a relaxing holiday or for the business traveller. Cost- You will no doubt be prepared to pay a fair amount to stay at this high calibre hotel, please be prepared to pay over the odds for drinks, food and extra packages. Local area- The local area of Vougliameni is well worth exploring, it is only a 10 min walk from the hotel and the many of the restaurants en route are worth trying. If you can get the breakfast package thrown in go for it as it really is fantastic. Young children- My daughter (toddler) was spoilt by the staff at the hotel, they really couldn't have done enough for us. There's a kids club here (which we didn't use but hear is very good) and the whole complex is very child friendly, be it the Westin or the Arion. We were there over easter and the place had a nice balance of families staying without being overrun! I would say the balcony is not toddler friendly (big gaps at the bottom) so our little one couldn't go outside but I think they are better at the Westin. Enjoy your holiday!
