The decor is a western style theme with vintage artwork paying homage to the bygone days of Aspen. The master bedroom has a brand new king bed, the second bedroom has twins that can convert to a king upon request, and there is a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room. Chateau Aspen is in the center of the downtown core and just one block from the Aspen Mountain gondola, and Aspen's world class shopping, dining, and skiing are all right outside the door. The building's common courtyard has a gas grill and fire pit and offers a nice place to gather outside. 4 guests maximum. Just across from City Market and in the heart of downtown, the Chateau Aspen can’t be beat. But, between the smoke from the chimney of the restaurant next-door, and the lack of AC (which is not uncommon in mini mountain towns), the horribly uncomfortable bed, and the noise coming in through the necessitated open windows, We ended up leaving a day early. We simply could not get any good sleep, including trying to nap during the days. The dresser in the master bedroom looks like and functions like it was purchased at a garage sale.
