Cabin in the woods with a hot tub
This little cabin is a great place to getaway to. Formally a pottery studio for local well known artisan Bob Brotherton this property has been transformed into an outdoor lovers retreat. It is not uncommon to hear a pair of eastern screech owls, have a visit from a flock of wild turkeys or even a visit from a black bear. The large deck across the front of the house is a great place to relax and enjoy your morning coffee or an evening dinner with a sunset across the Appalachian mountains.

We liked the seclusion but it ended up being farther than we wanted from the places we were going. The kitchen could have used some more items for cooking. The heated floor in the bathroom was a plus. Not sure why the railing on the porch toward the hot tub wasn’t continued. It’s a pretty big drop if you step off on accident. Not good safety wise for kids and dogs. Otherwise we were very happy with our stay. Great view!
Stayed a week to explore the area for possible retirement. It was great location. Quiet. Clean. Hot tub was great after long hikes. The only thing I missed was a box of Kleenex:-)
We loved this place. Quiet, peaceful…. the hot tub was amazing. We had everything we needed. Spent most of our time at the cabin. But still just 10-15 min from the grocery store or a local brewery that welcomed our 2 Mimi aussies. Who also found the cabin a relaxing retreat.I think they were more sad to leave then us! Would recommend this place and hope to come back ourselves.
We loved the cabin! It was a perfect way to start our marriage with our beloved dogs. We enjoyed walking the driveway with our dogs, wine and tea on the deck or hot tub while gazing at the stars. We loved the wood fire and being able to cozy up with hot chocolate and watch movies. Location was amazing and having that view to wake up to was perfect! It was also incredibly clean!
The view of the mountain fall colors this time of year is amazing. The cabin is very clean and cozy. The master bed is very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, utensils, pots and pans, and appliances. Love the dual coffee maker – bring your own coffee for either a Keurig or drip machine because coffee is not provided. There’s an Ingles 10 minutes away to stock up on any groceries you need. It’s in a great location to visit surrounding areas. We enjoyed shopping and lunch in Canton. We spent most of our time in Asheville. We did some volunteering and shopped a little downtown to support local businesses. We also did a little hiking and enjoyed the fall weather and the beautiful fall colors.
We hope to come back soon! Thank you so much for the hospitality!
Incredible view from the porch! The cabin was perfect for my family! It had everything we needed and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! There are sky lights in the bedroom so if you don’t like waking up real early bring an eye mask. The driveway was a little tricky turning our Expedition around but we managed. It was the perfect way to celebrate our 10 year anniversary!

The bed was very comfortable and the hot tub was great. The only complaint we had was there could be a bench in the bathroom to sit on and to lay clothes when you take a shower. The towel bar next to the shower will not hold a towel because it is missing a screw on the right side so when you pull a hanging towel out the whole bar falls down. Besides that we had a great time.
My family spent Thanksgiving at this property and absolutely loved it! The view of the mountains was beautiful during the day and then the city lights below where lovely at night time. The kitchen is fully equipped and had everything we needed. We didn’t leave the property the entire trip! We hiked up the mountain behind the house, played the dozen board games inside, and spent time in the hot tub. The bunk beds were great! They each had plug ins and the kids were able to have alone time without having to have their own rooms. We had a great time and hope to visit again soon!
We loved it and will definitely be back!! Everything was clean and perfect! You have a beautiful cabin. The driveway is steep but you are in the mountains so that is expected ;)
Cabin was just like the photos. It was very cozy and cute. Everything was very clean. Beautiful views and we really enjoyed the hot tub! We would stay again.
Our stay was great. The property is still close to town but quiet and peaceful with great views!! Peter was excellent and answered all my questions. It was a little chilly when we first arrived but was able to heat the house up quick with the wood burning stove and space heaters. We will definitely be back in the future!!

Cabin was excellent, very cozy and well distributed as far as space. Property is situated on a hill and is very private. Only perk is if you are visiting during winter try to make your way on an SUV(all wheel drive preferably) to avoid getting stuck on the steep hill. Other than that i really recommend this cabin, owner communication was phenomenal.
My husband and I decided last minute that we wanted to take our boys up to see snow. We came across this property and booked it. We are so pleased with our choice and our stay! It’s exactly as described and had a gorgeous view of the mountains! The space is small but well appointed. We will definitely be back! It was a great deal for what you get! It will be perfect in the spring/summer too with its large deck with a grill and outside dining table! The owner was very responsive and let us check in early! Highly recommend!
