The best time to visit Aritar is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) months.
During spring, the weather is pleasantly mild, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C. This is when the surrounding hills are lush and green, and rhododendrons and other wildflowers are in bloom, making it a beautiful time for nature walks and enjoying the scenic views of the Himalayas. It's also an excellent time for activities like boating on Lampokhari Lake.
Autumn offers equally agreeable weather, with clear skies and comfortable temperatures between 15°C and 25°C. The post-monsoon air provides excellent visibility, offering spectacular panoramic views of the Kanchenjunga range. This period is ideal for photography and outdoor excursions, including visits to the Aritar Gumpa monastery and the Mankhim Temple.
While Aritar can be visited in winter (December to February), temperatures can drop significantly, especially at night, and some higher-altitude trails might be less accessible.
