Arch Rock, also known as Cathedral Rock, is a beachfront rock formation with a couple of intriguing openings. It is along part of a scenic trail in Keurboomstrand. Ocean waves lap the base of this natural phenomenon, which is said to have once held spiritual significance to indigenous people. Capture photos of the picturesque arch and the smaller hole above it that resembles a cathedral’s rose window. Admire the natural decorations of plants and flowers hanging from the rocks above. Stand inside the rock opening to pose for photos and appreciate its sheer vastness. Watch the changing hues of the sky through the arch at sunset. The beach path to the arch is simple at low tide, while an elevated trail through coastal vegetation takes you there at high tide.
