Love this beautiful place
This a great home to rent for a stay on the lakeshore. Plenty of room for a few days stay. Convenient location to the beach at Arcadia. Easy to drive north to sleeping bear dunes. Plenty of restaurants in Frankfort and Beulah. This is our 5th year here for the 4th of July.

Love this location. Love this home away from home.
This home is centrally located for all the things I want to do. I can head north to Frankfort and Sleeping Bear Dunes. I can head south to Portage Point. Arcadia sunsets are amazing. The home is comfortable and clean. Love having a kitchen and fridge

Great place to stay, Will be returning in winter.the couple that own property are very nice ,

Robert and Kelly were very nice. The gardens were absolutely beautiful as the views were also. Peaceful, serene location for a getaway from busy city life. Close to Lake Michigan. Bring all your food and drinks as there is no grocery or gas station close, it’s about 20 min away, but not a real issue. The details were well thought out, even a big bar of soap In the bath, who gets that these days! We will be going back, very good location and accommodating!

The town of Arcadia is lovely. As in all of W Lake Michigan, the beaches are small but actually here they were ok. Crystal Lake is north and that was lovely. We mainly did cycling and the Betsy trail was good. We brought our own food for most meals. Found out on last day that the golf club has a nice restaurant. Otherwise for eating out you’ll need to go to Elberta or Frankfort. House is very secluded. The Guest outdoor seating areas are available but no chairs on patio and the hill side seating area was in disarray- that was the only disappointment. In town there is a lovely park (Grebe) to sit outside and enjoy sunsets. We had beautiful weather and this was a nice COVID get away. Do your research on things to do in the area. TripAdvisor was good.

We had a great time! The house is beautifully located near the forest with lots of flowers around. Yet, it is not far away from interesting cites along the northern shore of lake Michigan! The owner is very pleasant and helpful. All in all an excellent place!

We love this place!! Quiet and peaceful, also very comfortable and relaxing. Beautiful view to the West of Lake Michigan, and nice woods behind. Bob and Kelly are awesome hosts!! Place is clean and pleasant. We had unexpected car trouble while in Elberta while staying, had to tow car to shop in Elberta. Bob was great, had a neighbor come out to pick us up, and take us back to Elberta next day when car was all done! Bob went above and beyond to help us. This was pretty awesome. Bob and Kelly are not just excellent hosts. They are kind, decent people who truly care about others☺

Beautiful Property - Details
Rental is apartment. Lovely light-filled main room (kitchen, dining, LR) with excellent views all 3 sides. Kitchen is quite usable, but not for real cooks. If you mostly eat out or take-out it's more than adequate. Good fridge was clean. Basic cooking utensils (nothing fancy). Has Microwave, coffee pot and coffee, toaster, older blender, etc. Stove is convertible electric -- bit funky (1960s style) but three of the four burners worked. Bedrooms are converted attic space; have no windows but good elec. lighting, and fans to pull in A/C or room air. Twin bed mattresses are a bit hard for older adults but Q-Bed is fine. Nice cotton sheets. Apt. was generally clean. I gave 4-star for cleanliness only b/c I found several long dark (human) hairs on bedding (prob. from owner when making the bed - sheets smelled fresh), and when I pulled the bed away from the wall about 6 inches, there were a bunch of dust bunnies. Also, inside of drawers were dusty. Had not been wiped out in a while. Full Disclosure: I'm a clean freak.

Located minutes drive from popular Arcadia hiking trails and mountain bike trails. 30-40 minutes drive from Sleeping Bear NP and Glen Arbor. Enjoyed a drink at Arcadia Bluffs golf course as well.

Wonderful
If you like quiet, this is the place for you. The apartment can accommodate up to 4 to 6 people, but it's a really great place for a couple. Super nice hosts who leave you alone once you're oriented, but they're there for you, if you need anything. Great place. We've been there twice now and we'll be back again. Five stars across the board!

Property was beautiful and The apartment was extremely spacious and For the most part well-maintai
The bathroom toilet seat was broken and the VRBO photos did not show that the emergency exit door connected with the living space of the owners . Not a problem necessarily just an unexpected feature . An extra set of towels was requested for a weeklong stay for three individuals however they were not provided and we were asked to wash The existing set ourselves over and over and over again . So we had to find a market and buy our own detergent and wash towels. Every VRBO place that we have stayed in the past has always provided extra towels. Photos also did not show extremely steep winding driveway to access the property. Once again not a big deal just an unexpected feature .

Great place for couple or couple with smaller kids
We really enjoyed this apartment. It was immaculate and included all the amenities we needed. The gardens are spectacular ... fully utilized by many hummingbirds. In the neighborhood, we saw many deer, sand hill cranes and wild turkeys. For activities, I played a few rounds at Arcadia Bluffs and we enjoyed hiking Arcadia Dunes as well as visiting Frankfort.

Neat, Clean, and Spacious
The apartment space was neat as a pin and quite roomy. Though we could see the lake from our rooms, in reality, Lake Michigan and its beauty was only a short car ride away. This was a quiet retreat where you could sit outside, enjoy the peace and read or talk undisturbed. I would return!

We really enjoyed having the convenience of an inn combined with the privacy and self-sufficiency of a cabin. Our apartment was clean, well-kept, and very pretty. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare basic meals, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Lovely apartment with beautiful view and close to Lake Michigan
Our stay was very pleasant and the apartment was roomy and very clean. There were views to woods and to the lake in the horizon. Our host was very nice, gave us privacy, and was available to answer any questions we had. Very well located, we were able to visit Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, and more. We will be back. Great location. Excellent apartment. The hosts are responsive, but stay out of your way. I highly recommend Hillside Manor to anyone who likes a nice clean spacious apartment surrounded by quiet woods, sitting on a hill with a view of Lake Michigan. If you don't like that kind of thing, don't go the Hillside Manor. Otherwise, I highly recommend it! Thanks again to our hosts!

Serene and beautiful
Our stay at Hillside Manor was wonderful. The house is situated high on a hill overlooking Arcadia Lake and Lake Michigan. The large windows offer beautiful views and the layout is spacious. The owners are extremely accommodating and the apartment is thoughtfully appointed. I highly recommend staying here.

A very unique property. Upper level rental was very roomy and clean. Nicely decorated. Very nice.
Very peaceful and private. Hardly knew the owners were there after they greeted us with some tips on visiting the area. If you enjoy privacy and comfort while being in close proximity to the area attractions I highly recommend Hillside Manor.

A Great getaway!
We found the apartment to be comfortable and well furnished. We appreciated our stay there and were especially happy to relax on the swing while watching Monarchs flutter around the butterfly bush. We also thoroughly enjoyed watching some beautiful sunsets over Lake Michigan from the living-room window!

Beautiful and peaceful vacation home.
Our stay at Hillside Manor was wonderful. The location was exactly what we needed to relax. The apartment was comfortable and much more spacious than it appears in pictures. From the living room window you can see Arcadia Lake and Lake Michigan. Another seating area looks out into the woods. The location is close to many beach areas, dunes and fun shops. Just a short drive away. Owners Kelly and Robert ensured we had everything we needed and let us know we could contact them if we needed anything. The kitchen area has everything you need to be comfortable and cook and prepare meals. There is also a grill area with comfortable glider and other seating. There was plenty of room for my family of 4. Trying to sum up our stay is almost impossible. Hillside Manor was the most comfortable, clean and relaxing place my family has ever vacationed. Would happily have stayed month.

Quiet hidden property in the woods overlooking Arcadia
We really enjoyed our stay. It was very quiet and peaceful. We saw deer and hummingbirds on the property. The place is hidden in the woods on top of a hill but still very convenient to many places and close to a beach. The house is very well kept and clean. My only complaint was that we got too hot at night with just a window air conditioner in a different room. We were able to make our own food in the kitchen and also do laundry, which was very convenient. I would definitely recommend this place.

Some of the views were amazing.
Robert was pretty knowledgeable of where to go and visit on our short trip. I'd recommend this place for everyone. Not too far from the Arcadia beach access. The Big Apple had some pretty good food too. The only downfall, I didn't bring my clubs to enjoy Arcadia Bluffs golf course. Thanks for having us Robert.

Charming!
Our family had a great time exploring the western shore of Michigan. The apartment was clean and quiet and we could even watch the sunset over Lake Michigan from the living room window! There was a picnic area in the back complete with outdoor furniture and grill. Robert & Kelly were very accommodating and quick to respond to our request to book the apartment. Hillside Manor
Hillside Manor was a nice weekend getaway for our family. It was very quiet, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed that it was pet friendly and brought our dog. It's very close to Arcadia Bluffs which was great for golfing. Robert and Kelly were very accommodating.

Peace and Quiet in a beautiful setting
Stayed in the Manor for three nights and it was perfect!! Location is great if you like scenery with the serenity of the woods. In addition the Arcadia city Beach is only 2 miles away for more relaxation on the sandy Lake Michigan Beach. Easy drive to Frankfort for restaurants, brewpub, shopping, walks on the pier and groceries. About 10 miles to town. A little further up M-22 is Sleeping Bear National Park for Biking, hiking, etc. Will definitely be on the short list of places our family would like to stay for trips to Lake Michigan. Robert was very easy to communicate with. Why pay for a small cramped hotel room when you can stay in the Arcadia Dunes.

Absolutely Fantastic Weekend Getaway!
We were blown away by how beautiful the manor was. The pictures definitely do not do it justice! We unanimously agreed on how awesome our stay was given the Manor's location and amenities. We had breakfast outside in the picnic area, went for a hike and checked out the area nearby before going to the Dunes. Was a great weekend, and Robert was a great host! We look forward to hopefully going back soon!

Quiet, rural , clean, cozy...
Is a perfect description of this property. And if you're a flower gardner it's even better. Perennials to die for! We booked this and cancelled hotel reservations in Traverse City when we decided we already see and hear enough people in our everyday lives- ha! This place does the trick and is soothing for your soul ! And 5 minutes from Lake MI to boot! We Will be back!
