"We hired the bunkhouse for two nights of birthday celebrations and walking. Great location with stunning walks right outside the door. Wainwright’s Inn is a few steps away, as is the co-op with its little cafe upstairs. I hope to make our stay an annual event. Highly recommended!"

"We had a fantastic stay in Ambleside, largely due to the location of this property. A 5 minute walk from the centre of town and lots of restaurants and pubs but far enough away from the centre to be private. Amazing views. A little difficult to find in the first place but once we located it, all was good! Thank you!"

"Booked this via VRBO and was forwarded to Hereward Cottages. Upon booking we were under the impression we had 4 bedrooms to use as we pleased - however, we were told (pretty rudely via email) the 4th bedroom was only suitable for children (even though the beds would have easily held a fully grown adult on the bottom bunk). "Kate and Paul were exceptionally welcoming before the check-in time. They invited us to leave our car in the car park while we went walking for the day. They took our luggage up to our room which went over and above what we would race as good service. Throughout our stay, Paul and Kate were wonderful , friendly, knowledgeable & helpful hosts. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back."
