Even though the beach was 426 steps down, it was close enough to visit every day. The breakfast was great. We accidently took a towel down to the beach and were reprimanded. Overall, a nice place to stay. We would stay right on the ocean next time.

What a view! Great staff and nice breakfast with their own barrista making coffee in the morning. On the bus line so very convenient but if you want it is an enjoyable 30 minutes walk into town. Best hotel stay on the trip!

Nice lodging right on the Amalfi coast
Nice hotel located right on Amalfi Dr about 15 min walk to Center, or take bus (stop is close to hotel) having a car is another story, €25 a day a day to park. Getting in and out of the parking garage, which is right on the main road is a little tricky. No problem if you’re an experienced driver. Sitting outside in the restaurant area you have a beautiful view of the day. Staff is pleasant. Breakfast is good.

We stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights to explore the Amalfi Coast. The staff is friendly and helpful during our stay. The room was exactly like their description and spotless and had everything we need, including strong AC! We walked to the Amalfi town daily, which took 20-25 minutes. Walking to the town is easy since it's downslope, but the walk back to the hotel is a workout, especially on a hot day. We had to be mindful of the road too because there was no to little sidewalk and we had to share it with the cars, busses and scooters. We do recommend walking to the town and taking the bus back to the hotel at night. You can purchase bus tickets from the hotel front desk.

Great view from our bedroom , however the beds need updating , very low , they do not have queen or king beds. Great location, good breakfast , but no elevator, they do not have on the premises a person to carry them upstairs nor down, the same reception girls do it ! We were recommended a very high priced restaurant where they offer fresh fish , but my stomach did not reacted well, it looks that the sauce or olive oil was too heavy for me . The reception was attentive , although we had to go down the stairs to get the mini soaps , you also had to pay attention to the toilet paper ! We walked at night very safe to the town, the taxi was very pricey $20 ea. way for an 8minute ride. Beautiful views ! Needs update , but in general was ok. , the stairs up and down did not like . A person is in premises during night , so that is good. The reception was very attentive and courteous.

Dear Guest,thanks for the stay.We wish to inform you that the beds were replaced 3 years ago with memory foam mattresses; he is probably not used to the new typology and considered them "dated".The absence of a lift for access to the floors, dictated by the difficulty of fitting into a old structure, is clearly highlighted among the characteristics.We are sorry that we may have missed a replacement of the courtesy equipment in the room, but we did it as soon as we were informed (it wasn't even necessary to go down to the reception to ask for it, there is a telephone in the room to communicate...).We are pleased that overall you appreciated your stay and our courtesy.Sincerely

My husband, two teens, and I had a wonderful experience at the hotel. The views of Amalfi Coastline from our room were incredible! If you can’t get a room with a view, don’t worry. They have a deck with lots of chairs where you can sit and see the view. Very nice breakfast with the same beautiful view. The hotel itself was as clean as you can get with very new fluffy bright white towels and pillows. Try the cafe/pizza (G.A.S. bar) restaurant very close to the hotel (after 7pm you can sit on rooftop and eat pizza overlooking the whole coast). There is a small rooftop deck at the hotel as well, and we saw many shooting stars. There is no easy access to beach and no pool, but we were not looking for that this trip. We just wanted the beautiful view! The hotel made parking very easy for us. We tried the bus but it was overcrowded, so we walked to Amalfi. It’s not the best walk because there is little to no sidewalk. But going to Amalfi center for shopping is worth it. I don’t know if I would walk it at night though. But during the day was fine. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Amalfi
We just stayed and the Villa. We we greeted by a very nice and helpful staff. Villa was very clean and nicely decorated. Spacious room with sea view. Staff was always willing to help with directions any other questions. Walking to Amalfi is possible but suggest buying Sita bus ticket at villa for ride back. 1.30 e / each. There is also a nice beach access 150 meters away but you will have to walk down a 500' stairway to the beach which we did. 20-25 e for two chairs and an umbrella. You can also just bring a blanket and stay on beach for free. A lot less crowded then the downtown beach. Breakfast was adequate with a nice rooftop sitting area overlooking the ocean. Overall a great experience! Thank you Villa Maria Luigia and their great staff!!!

It was okay
It was okay, that is really all I can say about it. Sadly, we had a bad experience with it. The AC in our room didn't work when we got back to our room at 11pm and the guy at the reception, who didn't speak english, tried to fix it for over an hour versus just changing our room. We were exhausted as we watched him try to fix something that wasn't going to happen. He told us that all the rooms were booked repeatedly and then when we asked for our money back he went downstairs and got us keys to another room. However, we couldn't stay in that room so it was "only to sleep" so we had to leave our stuff in our original room, wake up and go downstairs into our hot room and hope they fixed it during the day which luckily they did. Last odd thing the hotel does is keep your room keys throughout the day while you're out. We felt slightly uncomfortable seeing as all of our personal items where in there...

Dear Guest, our availability has been widely demonstrated with the help provided by our staff for the problem. As you found the next day, the air conditioner malfunction was just a wrong setting of the remote control (not everyone knows how to set the AC well); For this reason, the air conditioned has always been working and did not even require the intervention of the technician. Regarding the keys, probably you don't know the use by hotels, but they almost always ask to leave the keys at the reception, with two reasons: to know if the room is busy and to avoid losing the keys (guests complain when they are asked to pay because they lost the keys!). Anyway, the hotel has always obviously a passpartout, for safety reasons,to enter all the rooms. You didn't ask yourself, when you have keep the key with you on the first day of your stay, how did your room be clean and reset when you are come back?

We loved our stay at Villa Maria Luigia, very nice place to stay. You can get access to the private beach right in front using another hotel's lift, which will save your life and 400 steps of horror. This was a nice bonus The staff was really nice and also the room and huge bathroom. Beautiful terrace to hang out and beautiful building. I will definitely stay here again Only bad thing is that we had a triple room which they made by adding an extra bed. This extra bed was unfortunately too small and narrow making quite difficult to sleep there. I didnt obviously measure it but it felt 70cm, not nice. But if you are not 3 people this does not affect you anyway

Good hotel
We had a nice stay. Great bunk beds for kids. Pretty modest hotel but clean and served as a good place to base our stay on the Amalfi coast. We walked to town and enjoyed it. But if you have any disability or are elderly the walk may be a bit much for you. For those who are in very good shape I highly recommend the walk to Ravello. Bring water.

Good for a 3-star hotel, but way overpriced.
Great view, nice and welcoming receptionists, very clean room with good sound isolation for quiet nights (even though it is located by the road like most hotels in Amalfi coast), comfortable beds, sufficient fresh breakfast. I felt however that the room was way overpriced compared to my other location in Praiano. It is older and quite simple. Hearing the sounds of the church bell tower all day and night long is very normal for many locations in Italy, but I slept very well even though I'm a light sleeper. Our room had no glasses for drinking, but it was no big deal to get some plastic cups from the receptionists. Overall, my 12 year old son and I were happy with our stay. Beautiful location on Amalfi coast
Although we only spent one night here, we were so happy we did! It was a lovely hotel, right on Amalfi drive and just a short distance, maybe a mile from downtown Amalfi shops and restaurants. They have a nice beach access and pool (there is a fee for both) and the views are amazing! The terrace where you can sit for breakfast in the morning is also stunning. There is a fee for parking so make sure you read the confirmation email they send you with all the details. We would love to visit again and stay longer next time!

Really lovely hotel, amazing views from terraces, rooms spotless, comfy bed, staff super friendly and helpful, breakfast fresh and delicious. It's about a 20 minute hike uphill from the town which does make it really peaceful and there's a bus stop pretty much outside but certainly not super convenient for restaurants, day trips, harbour etc and the road isn't exactly the safest as no pavement most of the way and 2 tunnels to negotiate!

Very helpful service and awesome beach
Loved our stay. We knew it was slightly out of the main town but that was fine for us, b/c we wanted to just relax at the beach for the day. The service is great -- I emailed a million times with several questions before we arrived and they kept responding and attending to my needs before even arriving. The only slight downfall is that they don't have eggs at their breakfast, which most other hotels we stayed at did. But save for that, it was excellent with beautiful views and access to a beach which is great with a great restaurant.

My girlfriend and I both enjoyed our stay there. 20 min walk in to town center. Don't be fooled though. There is no pool and to get to the beach it is 465 steps. Unless you pay 15 euros to take an elevator

Just to point out that about the pool is written on the website that "The villa has the availability in agreement of a private pool of 200sqm, equipped with parasols and sun loungers. In addition, each guest can enjoy free use of a towel. The pool is located about 1km on the terracing in the upper part of the villa and can be reached by free shuttle service." The 15 euro are not only for use of the lift, but as always written on our website, this amount includes the umbrella and sun loungers. This is what you are paying for the convenience of crossing the road and be in 2 minutes already relaxed on the beach sunbathing. Thank you. See you in a next future.

Villa Maria Luigia is a beautiful B&B located approximately one km above Amalfi town (in the Positano direction). We had a gorgeous, spacious room with a balcony looking out over the sea. Everything was immaculately clean (and consistently kept so), and the staff was very friendly and always ready to answer any questions we had about the town and surroundings. The breakfasts featured delicious, fresh pastries and coffee made to order and are served on a sunny veranda with an amazing sea view. The only thing you need to know before booking this hotel is that the distance to town includes a significant climb, and requires you to walk on a fairly congested road and navigate many stairs. Taking it easy, it will take you about 20 minutes to get down to town, and slightly longer to get back up. Buses run this route during the day but can be very congested. A taxi from town will cost you 15 Euros a trip. If you are okay with the walk, then this hotel is perfect for you.

Un très bon accueil, le personnel est d’une grande gentillesse et disponible à toute heure à la réception. Chambre très propre et jolie, plutôt « typique » et donc très appréciable avec le cadre, une terrasse rooftop à deux pas des chambres avec une vue sur le magnifique levé de soleil. Le petit déjeuner (8h/10h) est assez fourni et très bon, plusieurs pâtisseries et tous les basiques y sont présents, les cafés (tous types) sont aussi très bons, pas de machines industrielles ici, la dame qui s’en occupe est elle aussi d’une grande gentillesse. Le tout avec une vue sur la côte très appréciable le matin ! Le service 24h/24 permet de laisser ses clefs à la réception donc pas de tracas en tant que touriste on ne risque pas de les perdre. Chaque chambre est équipée d’une télé écran plat avec les services de streaming et d’un minifrigo (les boissons du mini bar sont peu chères). La climatisation est présente et réglable, la literie quant à elle est de très bonne qualité. Le tarif est parmi les plus bas mais l’hôtel n’a rien à envier aux autres ! Si vous arrivez un peu tard et que vous souhaitez manger, à 250m vous trouverez une pizzeria G.A.S Bar qui ne paye pas de mine à première vue mais les pizzas (9€) sont très bonnes et à emporter ! Seul bémol l’hôtel se situe à 20-25mins à pied du port et ne pouvant pas compter sur les bus il faudra vous armer de courage avec les valises, assez peu de trottoir donc soyez prudents !

This is a lovely property with comfortable rooms, a good breakfast, and a spectacular view. The only drawbacks are the lack of an elevator and access on the narrow, two-lane road into Amalfi.

Flott hotell utenfor Amalfi
Vi hadde det beste rommet Aurora med egen balkong. Supert vertskap. Enkel, men god frokost. Mye trafikk rett utenfor. Litt langt til badeplasser. Gode bussforbindelser. Det tar 25 minutter å gå til Amalfi sentrum. Det er ingen naturlige restauranter nærmere enn det.

O hotel é bom, tem uma vista incrivel do café da manhã. Com tantos limões na região, poderiam oferecer suco de limão natural no café da manhã. Também poderia haver uma melhor sinalização de entrada do hotel na porta ou na garagem, a entrada não é suficientemente clara para quem chega ao hotel pela primeira vez. O hotel é perto de um ponto de onibus e fica 1,7km do centro da cidade, é uma boa caminhada, pois na região do hotel nao tem nada para comprar.

Fornøjelse at bo på hotellet. Rent og pænt og meget hjælpsomt personale. Dog savnes et køkken på stedet, bare til en pizza eller lidt gnocchi.

Trevligt litet hotel!
Väldigt rent och stiligt. Kanske inte speciellt modernt men man ser på bilderna. Det tar 10 minuter att gå in till stan och det går bussar som kostar 1.3 e per biljett. Ett bra alternativ plus att hotellet ligger nära en väldigt fin strand så man kan skippa stranden i amalfi stad.
