« Wow! This house is beautiful, cozy, comfortable and very well-equipped. Comfortable beds, lots of space to sodas out and relax. Beautiful land with interesting hiking on the property (see mystery “zipper tree” photo below!) Lots of great DVDs and interesting books/puzzles/games. Kitchen has lots of spices and every cooking/baking thing we needed. We are already planning our next trip to Sylvan’s Keep! Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful cabin with us. »

« My husband and I love this cabin and want to go back in the Spring. The property is gorgeous and very private. The sounds and views of the Maury River from the porch was very relaxing. We noticed people walking, biking and jogging on a trail on the opposite side of the river and discovered that they were on a portion of the Chessie Trail. We drove to one of the nearby trail access areas and took our two dogs on a 3 mile walk. What a treasure! »

« This was a repeat visit and the cabin was as great as it was before. Perched on a bluff overlooking a bend in the James River, the cozy log cabin provided a wonderful winter retreat for our family of 5 adults. Elizabeth is a great host, the directions were spot-on, and the bedroom are comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts. Thoroughly enjoyed it once again. »

« We stayed at Joe’s cozy cabin and had a blast. It was a great spot to stay for a couple of nights while we went to Snowshoe. The cabin had everything we needed and Joe was so kind- even providing entertainment options in Marlinton and offering meals during our stay. You also can’t beat the property the cabin is on. « The host is a bit overbearing, with text and emails. We have stayed at multiple rentals and like to be left alone.Amenities, 1) Washer-dryer unit by the kitchen table DOES NOT have a door, very load.2) Coffee maker which is an easy fix does NOT work, doesn't brew, huge problem for equestrians and guests3) Drain in bathrooms upstairs were disgusting. We bought draino and cleaned.Rest of the house was fine. Would recommend keyless entry.Thanks, Hilary Keller 804-592-7160 »

« Host was welcoming and available for questions. House was big and great. A true 6 bedroom house with full size bedrooms. Large convenient washer/dryers. Great TV with Roku. Best thing was checklist for checking out was simple, versus places where you have to strip beds and do other household cleaning despite paying a cleaning fee. Would definitely rent again. »
