On arrival we were informed that they knew of our preference for a low floor, due to my wife being unable to use the lift, plus she’s 72 years old. We were put on the 4th floor. Our room overlooks a back road, not a great experience. The hotel itself sits right in the middle of extensive roadworks which is a total sight for sore eyes. The television didn’t show channels as expected, and the maintenance person called to check and made little difference. Also the air conditioning system was too cold and it couldn’t be changed to a better temperature. On top of this and lots more roadworks, the local government asked us to pay €6:60 p day for the pleasure of walking through it every day. As if keeping locals in shops, restaurants, bars, transport and airport staff employed isn’t enough.
