It is rolling hills mixed with horse farms. It is the foothills of the Smokies. the roads go along some of the old trails laid out. Driving past Lake Cumberland gives you the feel of deep wood in the Smokies, and still be on the foothills. There is old growth everywhere. I have not been here in the fall, but if you want to see the Smokies during the height of fall color, I would highly recommend this area, I am going to come back in october.
