"Spent the one night here. Thoroughly enjoyed and overall impression was good. Having canvas tents is more authentic but necessarily means a little less comfort than the "purpose built camps" like Oryx, though more than adequate. Food is brought up from Oryx (1km away) and was pretty good. Stargazing was amazing as was watching the colours at sunrise. But the "activities" on offer are expensive - "dune bashing" for £50 was really not up to much and you could walk to the place you are taken...

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Al Kamil?
The best area to stay in Al Kamil is generally around the town centre, particularly near the main highway that runs through it.

This central area offers the most convenient access to local amenities and serves as a practical base for exploring the surrounding region. You'll find a selection of guesthouses and smaller hotels here, often close to local shops and eateries. The main road, often referred to as the Al Kamil Road, is a key thoroughfare.

For families or travellers seeking a comfortable and functional stopover, staying near the town centre is ideal.
When is the best time to go to Al Kamil?
The best time to go to Al Kamil is during the cooler months, specifically from October to April.

During this period, the weather is much more pleasant for outdoor activities, with daytime temperatures typically ranging from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius. This is ideal for exploring the desert, visiting wadis, and enjoying the local culture without the intense heat of the summer.

Travellers looking for an active holiday, such as desert safaris, dune bashing, or exploring the natural springs, will find these months perfect. The cooler temperatures make extended periods outdoors comfortable, allowing you to fully enjoy the natural beauty of the region.

For those planning a more relaxed trip, perhaps visiting local markets or enjoying the hotel amenities, the mild weather still offers a comfortable experience.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?

Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation.
