"Our night at the Chateau had to be the single most memorable night of our trip. I loved it; my other half was a bit freaked by it all. The property is a long way from anywhere down a stone road. The wildlife is incredible (I’ve never heard an all-night frog chorus before and the deer roam freely through the meadows). "The standard room was slightly cramped and looked and felt a bit tatty décor wise with cheap furniture. You had to ring a phone a phone on the reception desk to gt a reception to come over from the adjoining hotel. Makes you feel inferior to those staying in the adjoining hotel. There only appeared to be one member of staff in the breakfast area which meant tables were often waiting to be cleared and relaid for other guests"
