"I just had the worst weekend at this place. While some staff were very kind and helpful, the manager of this hotel is a very rude man that doesn't know how to treat customers and lies about the amenities offered by the hotel. The air-conditioning stopped working on our second night. The manager knew it had a problem but still kept us in this room. My biggest nightmare was the parking. As everyone can see it says it has parking and that is free, however, besides to be a very hard place to reach...

"1) the advertisement on the website is misleading: it is a hostel with shared bathrooms yet it is offered as a boutique hotel. 2) I bought my stay through hotels.com and chose to pay at the check-in but the owner had called me before I arrived and said she only accepts cash. I have not seen such an approach in my entire life, forcing customers to pay cash and this is not written anywhere, no warning nothing. 3) i had to chase them to get an invoice after their various excuses not to issue it....

"Very lovely hosts with a lot of pride in their pansiyon. They both made the effort to converse with us, despite the language barrier, and made us feel very welcome. Spotlessly clean room & bathroom, plenty of space, and well located down one of the many laneways of the town. It has a huge roof terrace with table & chairs, plants, & a view of the chimneys & minaret"

"We had a lovely time at Tunc Otel. The owners are very kind, helpful and accommodating. They were very responsive to our needs. We felt like we were home. The location of the hotel is excellent. We find the atmosphere very pleasant. It was especially delightful to have our breakfast in the outdoor dining area of the hotel among pine and fig trees. There were an abundance of delicious choices provided for breakfast featuring unique tastes of the Agean region, prepared in tasty locally produced olive oil. The hotel offered reasonable prices for dining options. We thank the owners for the wonderful time we had at the Tunc Otel."

"To start with the room was not what we booked, we booked a sea view room and ended up with a street view room! The electricity key was broken, it was a challenge to put the key in to have the electricity to work. Was quite noisy as well. The smell from the toilet was disgusting, we told the receptionist but as they didn't speak English, they didn't do anything about it! The hotel is really old and can benefit from some modernisation and maintenance. To be honest the property is not worth the price we paid, I would not book it again and advise against it."

"We chose this hotel for a short holiday with our children because it is located by the seaside in an oxygen-rich area. It’s quiet and relaxing, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool, garden, and beach are all exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The food exceeded our expectations. Every evening, the main course was accompanied by a surprise appetizer and freshly made salads. After dinner, you can enjoy time on the beach and take long peaceful walks. Nearby attractions include the ancient port and city of Assos, the Temple of Athena, charming historical villages, local natural foods, and the ancient city of Troy, all definitely worth a visit. We were very pleased with our stay and are already considering coming back in the future"

"A lovely boutique hotel in Cunda within walking distance to the marina, restaurants, market. Parking across the street. Delicious Turkish breakfast with generous serves. Staff were friendly and courteous. The standard room was a little small but comfortable. I’m sorry I don’t speak Turkish to thank them for our short but enjoyable stay. Cunda is quiet and relaxing away from the busy-ness of Ayvalik and a short distance further if thinking about a stopover. Make sure you go to Tas Kahve for Turkish coffee or gelato and watch the coffee beans being ground by a handsome Turkish man lifting a 33 kg weight!"
