"The brochure was far more glamorous than the actual property. These were miners cabins, small as a caravan, old, well worn, bed pushed up against the wall so not readily accessible (unless you are extremely agile) the air conditioner was emitting a foul odour (Old and musty smell). We decided not to stay and the staff were really fabulous about our decision. I think also that the fact that the breakfast was included but was to be finished by 7am was a tad unfair to travellers although more...

"Accommodation in post boom mining towns is now affordable. The Walkabout is a rabbit warren of donga's, single men's quarters and tired Spanish mission style stuff from the 80's; retro FIFO. The pub grub servings are not as huge as at Roebuck plains."
