![Slovenia is full of remarkable places to visit. A few hours northeast of Ljubljana, the capital, lies a region of alpine valleys that will take your breath away. I took this photo shortly after sunrise on the ridge between two of those valleys.

Having your own set of wheels certainly makes getting around this area a lot easier. For accommodation I'd recommend Luce, a small town a stone's throw away from the action, where there are a few options.

The trails can be hard to locate and very slippery when covered with snow so tread carefully or, preferably, wait until it disappears.

« Séjour d’une nuit avant acheminement vers l’aéroport proche. Le cadre de l’établissement est très agréable. La chambre était correcte et propre. Néanmoins nous avons eu l’impression d’avoir la dernière chambre, un peu à l’écart, avec vue sur l’arrière du bâtiment (poubelles). Nous avions réservé longtemps à l’avance et pourtant n’avons pas eu comme demandé une chambre avec lits jumeaux. Aucune possibilité de changer. Un apéritif nous a été offert, à notre demande, en guise de dédommagement. »

« Ottimo soggiorno per un capodanno in Slovenia. L'albergo si trova a Kranj, praticamente a metà strada (30 km circa) tra altri due importanti siti d'interesse: La capitale Lubiana e il Lago di Blend.. La struttura ci ha permesso di assistere ad un concerto di fine anno praticamente sotto casa. Il proprietario è gentile e subito pronto ad esaudire le nostre richieste. Le camere sono insonorizzate bene e altrettanto bene è la pulizia. I parcheggi sono accessibile a 5 minuti a piedi dalla...

« Au milieu de la forêt et situé à l'écart de tout. Très calme et reposant. Très bon accueil. Chambre classique avec grande salle de bains. Restaurant appartenant à l'hôtel juste en face. Dîner avec entrée, plat, dessert et 2 boissons par personne = 37€ à 2\. Repas de qualité et généreux. Petit déjeuner complet. Mention spéciale à l'équipe très sympa et cordiale. Travaux de longue durée peut rendre l'accès en voiture compliqué selon l'heure d'arrivée. En partant j'ai été obligé de faire un détour...

« Très bonne adresse pour un séjour proche de Bled. La Penzion est dans une rue peu passante au calme. Très propre. L'accueil du propriétaire et de la dame très chaleureux. Le petit déjeuner bien complet et varié. Possibilité de se restaurer tout près du logement dans le village historique. Nous ne pouvons que conseiller cette adresse. »
