"Great location and friendly staff"
Enjoyed our stay although had to move rooms, upgraded to a suite but preferred standard room as it was much quieter. Hotel itself is in a great location and a superb two star which it deserves another star at least. Would definatly stay here again when back in Madrid . I travelled with my daughter and felt very safe in the vicinity.

Hotel Francisco I

"Good hotel with an excellent location"
The location of the hotel was excellent, right on a pedestrian path in the very centre of Madrid's historic district and very close by to the palace, theatre, and basically everything else. The breakfast was excellent, the beds were comfortable, the room and the hotel were very clean, and the AC was decent (it was about 25 degrees in the room while it was 35 degrees outside). The hotel was a bit expensive, but was a good value for money; if I were to visit Madrid again I would return.

"Excellent service and location"
The staff was great. They were very helpful and made me feel right at home. The hostel is right on the Gran Via so it's in an excellent location to visit all tourist attractions. The hostel provides comfortable and clean rooms. They were cleaned every day. All I can say is thank you for making my first trip to Spain an enjoyable one. Next year, I will definitely book this hostel again.

Hotel Plaza Mayor

"Nice Hotel with Excellent Location"
I would definitely stay here again. There was really good Wifi in the room and 24 hour staff in their lobby. The rooms are really small but it comes with the price you pay for them. It was a plain room with just a TV and a small closet, which had a safe int it. The room had a small balcony with a descent view. They have a really nice and cheap Cafe/Buffet downstairs which had really good food. The hotel was right in front of Plaza Mayor, Puerta Del Sol, San Gines and Mercado San Miguel which was a plus. Museo Del Prado, Reina Sofia Museum and The Royal Palace were just a short walking distance away. There was a Metro station near by that can take you any where you would like, but riding a taxi in Madrid is really inexpensive too. All in all, it is a really good price for a good room.

"Value for Money and Good Location"
I stayed here for 2 nights. It's a great place if you're looking to save on money for a decent place in Madrid. The first day was so very noisy because of renovations being done in the building (which looked like good improvements to the ground floor). The first night was terrible. There was a ruckus on the street corner outside that kept from sleeping until past 2-3am. The second night was fine. The lift is a very narrow one, first of it's kind that I've ever seen! The bathroom was small and shared, but clean and quite decent. The room had towels and soap, which was handy. Apart from the noise, I think the place was good value for money. I dealt with 3 different people while I was there, and only 1 of them could speak any English. But I got by... The location is very good. It's only 5 mins walk from "Gran Via" road which holds most of the big name shopping stores etc and next to Puerta del Sol, the very heart of Madrid. So, ideal location for shopping, metro, food etc.

Hostal Hispano

C/ Hortaleza, Nº38 - 2º, madrid - Map
I was pleasantly surprised at the standard of cleanliness of the hostal. The rooms were cleaned and tidied daily. My room was very small but relatively comfortable - you get what you pay for, and friend's adjacent room was a little bigger. The location is fantastic and I would recommend this for a short city break if you want a cheap stay.
