Roomy and Great Location

Posted 6-Dec-2014
Pros: Location, room size and cleanliness, free parking, good wifi
Cons: Water occasionally took awhile to warm up
Location: Location is great - Inner Harbor across from the Parliament Building
This hotel was very nice for an older property. Our room was large, had great light from 3 large windows and a full kitchen. The beds and furniture in the living room were very comfortable and great for relaxing after a day spent walking and seeing the sights. The bathroom was small but adequate. Everything was very clean. The hotel also offers a free breakfast and free parking - which is a definite plus. It is within easy walking distance of everything in Victoria being located on a quiet side street across from the Parliament Building. We would definitely stay there again. It felt like we were getting great value for our money and the hotel (being smaller) was homey and welcoming.

Nice! Large, clean rooms, great rates!

Posted 19-Nov-2014
Pros: The room was great, had everything I needed, and then some!!
Cons: I'm trying not to sound too picky, but, perhaps the hotel staff could smile a little more and be a little more engaging with their guests.
Location: Quiet location, beautiful scenery nearby(marina, Parliament bldg, Empress Hotel, etc). Few minutes walk to everything, shops, restaurants, etc.
This hotel was quite nice. It had a lot of things that I liked, such as a large, open room, fresh, neutral decor, mini fridge in room, it was clean, plus it was in a quiet location, but still within walking distance to all major sight seeing attractions, shops, restaurants and cafes. It also had a lovely restaurant, which offered a free, hot breakfast to hotel guests, for every day of their stay, which was nice. Their dinner menu also looked great, though I didn't get a chance to try it, but I would like to, next visit. The staff of the hotel were very professional, efficient and courteous, however, I didn't get that warm, friendly B.C. vibe from them that I had received at my previous hotel in Vancouver. They weren't rude or anything like that, just not as super friendly as I was sort of expecting. Nevertheless, they were very accommodating and I definitely would return to this hotel. The restaurant breakfast wait staff were fabulous:)

Good people

Posted 12-Nov-2014
Pros: Staff, location, cleanliness, no swipe locks.
Cons: Elevators, luggage trolleys, AC, post under-building parking height limit before entrance.
Location: Walking distance to Legislature, Provincial Museum, etc.
We were having credit card troubles and the desk staff worked with us and were extremely pleasant and sympathetic. They obviously take great care in maintaining an older building, the elevators, luggage trolleys and AC, while functional, could use work. Parking can be an issue for taller vehicles. We found the room too warm on arrival, but we always do. Cleanliness was perfect. The food was better than I expected and the wait staff excellent. Its location was wonderful. Would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to all.

Convenient, friendly and great hotel!

Posted 11-Nov-2014
Pros: Convenient, clean, friendly staff and easy parking.
Cons: Better wifi service.
Location: Everything in nearby.
Great value for the convenience and quality of the hotel. The only minor downside was the wifi would continually drop you off and it was slow. Come to think about it....that's probably a good thing because it forced me not to work and to enjoy the beautiful city.

Nice clean hotel

Posted 28-Oct-2014
Pros: Everything
Location: Walking distance to downtown, Fisherman's Wharf, Beacon Hill Park.
We spent a couple of nights at the Embassy Inn. The hotel is next to the parliament building and walking distance to everything, the staff is really friendly and helpful, the room was clean and had a kitchenette. It's a great hotel at a great price.
