Low cost option which ticked most boxesPosted 16-Aug-2014
We stayed in the Embassy inn, this was the perfect location and the cheapest option for a one night mid week stay. The room was very clean and comfortable, however we were mildly disappointed that the hotel could not provide us with milk for our tea as they said it would cost too much so we should walk to the local store, the breakfast was cheap but very mediocre. Overall it was perfect for a one night stopover before heading off to the islands.

Air conditioner Loudest ever!Posted 11-Aug-2014
Cons: See above
The hotel itself was nice, however the air conditioning 2 out of 3 nights was loud enough that it woke all 3 of us every time it cut on. I told the staff on Saturday morning and they responded that they would fix it. Saturday night it did the same thing, so we got very little sleep for two nights out of three. We ask the front desk clerks about a local place to dine, not a chain. The gave us Smith & Wolensky, McCormick and Schmick, and Ruth Chris. All are chains. They may be good but they are all within an hour of where we live. We wanted to experience one of their local restaurants. Pathetic answer. I am sure we aren't the only ones who don't want to eat at chains.

Revisiting Victoria, BC.-fun!Posted 9-Aug-2014
Pros: location, price and friendly staff.
Cons: slow drains, but everything else was great!
Location: Butchart & Butterfly Gardens, City Bus Tour, Fisherman's wharf, Craigdarrouch Castle, Quilt shop Milestone café on the waterfront.
We stayed here 8 years ago and decided to stay again, as it is just an easy 2 block walk from the Coho ferry and an easy to walk from the ferry terminal, we parked our car at the Port Angeles ferry parking lot. The staff at the hotel was very helpful with whatever question I had, room was great and clean with sink, refrig., microwave and stove if needed. The air conditioner was nice as well. Bed was comfy too. They had a nice outdoor pool as well, weather was great, we could see that people were enjoying it. The Manager, Sarah, was so nice to help me with our cell phone issues (very knowledgeable) to avoid roaming charges as we were out of the country and I was very concerned, didn't want a huge bill when I returned home. I truly appreciated it. The entire staff was friendly and location was great. We took the city tour bus, hop on and off and also the bus tour to Butchart to include the Butterfly gardens, which was worth the money. Buses run every 30 mins to return home until late at night if you desire. We found their food in the restaurant was very good. It was a wonderful experience and would stay at the Embassy Inn again in a heart beat.

nice hotel so close to everythingPosted 24-Jul-2014
Pros: the restaurant was well appointed, the little extras in the bathroom like shampoo, conditioner and creams. Lots of hot water, newspapers in the lobby
Cons: Towels were very thin, seems like they have seen their best days and need to be replaced
Location: Fisherman's wharf, parliament building, royal BC museum, Beacon Hill Park

Especially good for walk on ferry travelers.Posted 20-Jul-2014
Pros: Easy Walk to and from the COHO ferry. Also we were able to spend our money elsewhere instead on inflated lodging prices.
Cons: Took us a moment to get the attention of the desk employee upon check-in.
Location: Great location! Check out the 90 min tour on the orange bus line and the history museum.
My husband and took a quick trip to Victoria for the weekend and were trying to find an affordable place to stay in or near the Inner Harbor area. We found it in the Embassy Inn. This place is very close to the Coho Ferry terminal and we walked everywhere with ease. It is not a 4 star hotel, but it is clean and comfortable. We were a little surprised to find a small stove in our room along with a sink and dorm size fridge and microwave. If your staying longer or traveling with small children, this might be a nice feature. The entrance/parking lot/building across from the lobby made us question our booking choice at first, but there was really no need. On our departure day, they held our bag so that we could explore the town unencumbered before heading back to the ferry. Fresh flowers in the lobby and a Farmer's market (about a block away on Sat) where some nice touches as well. I would definitely stay here again.

Handy to local attractions and harbour.Posted 18-Jul-2014
Pros: Handy to harbour and reasonable rates.
Cons: Air conditioning system needs looking at. Have better Tv and WiFi reception.
Location: Waterside entertainment, miniature world, museums, horse and buggy rides, transport options.
Staff helpful, room clean but not soundproof, and bed comfortable. Someone in adjoining room was rattling clothes hangers about 2 am! Maybe because it was an adjacent room and the door didn't absorb sound.... TV and wifi connections not good in corner room. Air conditioning wasn't good either, so left door to balcony open (thank goodness for screen door ). Was able to leave bag stored until room ready, and return from sightseeing. Easy and safe walk to nearby attractions.
