Especially good for walk on ferry travelers.Posted 20-Jul-2014
Pros: Easy Walk to and from the COHO ferry. Also we were able to spend our money elsewhere instead on inflated lodging prices.
Cons: Took us a moment to get the attention of the desk employee upon check-in.
Location: Great location! Check out the 90 min tour on the orange bus line and the history museum.
My husband and took a quick trip to Victoria for the weekend and were trying to find an affordable place to stay in or near the Inner Harbor area. We found it in the Embassy Inn. This place is very close to the Coho Ferry terminal and we walked everywhere with ease. It is not a 4 star hotel, but it is clean and comfortable. We were a little surprised to find a small stove in our room along with a sink and dorm size fridge and microwave. If your staying longer or traveling with small children, this might be a nice feature. The entrance/parking lot/building across from the lobby made us question our booking choice at first, but there was really no need. On our departure day, they held our bag so that we could explore the town unencumbered before heading back to the ferry. Fresh flowers in the lobby and a Farmer's market (about a block away on Sat) where some nice touches as well. I would definitely stay here again.

Handy to local attractions and harbour.Posted 18-Jul-2014
Pros: Handy to harbour and reasonable rates.
Cons: Air conditioning system needs looking at. Have better Tv and WiFi reception.
Location: Waterside entertainment, miniature world, museums, horse and buggy rides, transport options.
Staff helpful, room clean but not soundproof, and bed comfortable. Someone in adjoining room was rattling clothes hangers about 2 am! Maybe because it was an adjacent room and the door didn't absorb sound.... TV and wifi connections not good in corner room. Air conditioning wasn't good either, so left door to balcony open (thank goodness for screen door ). Was able to leave bag stored until room ready, and return from sightseeing. Easy and safe walk to nearby attractions.

The hotel is located in downtown Victoria. Very cleana and comfort thought the facility is old and the room is small.

Excellent locationPosted 6-Jul-2014
Location: The best experience we had was whale-watching on the "Prince of Whales", a service we recommend. Had several Orca sightings, some next to the boat.
The hotel is placed within easy walking distance of most of the tourist areas, right off the dock from the ferry running from Port Angeles. The room is clean and the staff friendly, and there is no charge for parking. On the downside, breakfast is not included for some (i.e., us) but was for others. The bed was uncomfortable, both of us had difficulty sleeping through the night. The room is air conditioned but difficult to control - happily, most of the time you do not need it.

For the area the hotel was very nice for the pricePosted 6-Jul-2014
Pros: The restaurant located on sight with excellent food.
Cons: Maybe a little upgrading.
Location: It is very well located in downtown within walking distance to everything except the Bushshard Gardens.
We only stayed for one night, for the price it was a nice hotel as good as you will find for the area. We stayed at Empress Hotel as well and I would be just as fine at the Embassy Inn. There in house restaurant was VERY NICE I thought the food was well prepared for dinner as well as breakfast.

Great stay would highly recommend this hotel.Posted 3-Jul-2014
Pros: Fantastic location, close to everything near the harbour. Thrifty's grocery store is a short walk away to pick up any items you may need.
Cons: Patio chairs for the balconies with a small table to place your coffee/beverage would have been a nice touch. Some privacy landscaping by the pool.
Location: Plenty of restaurants in the area as well as transportation you may require, whether it be a horse and buggy ride, or the public transportation.
I stayed in a family suite and had plenty of room, including two balconies, one off the main living area as well as another off the bedroom. The kitchen was adequately equipped, however, with many restaurants nearby I did not find it necessary to cook and only prepared a light breakfast. The location is ideal, and you can take the public transit from the airport within 1 block of the hotel. There is also a laundry mat on the main level for $2 per washing machine and $2 per dryer.

Hotel one block away from inner harbour.Posted 18-Jun-2014
Pros: Location to the inner harbour and many other tourist attractions. Also the nearby communities outside Victoria like Sidney, Duncan, Chemainus, etc.
Cons: Refer to my comments above as there are a number of areas in which this hotel could improve.
Location: Many tourists attractions too many to mention and shopping facilities, including many eating places in Victoria which were excellent.
Overall the location of the hotel was excellent. The room itself (ours held two 2 queen-size beds) was somewhat on the small side. The small size balcony was almost unusable. Bathroom was small with limited counter top space and could accommodate only one person at a time. There was poor ventilation in the bathroom leaving the mirror fogged up continuously while shower being used. Large closet was inconvenient as the queen-size bed bed was located close to it leaving awkward access. The restaurant was bright and welcoming with lots of windows. The menu lacked creativity and food preparation was so so. Complimentary breakfast was OK but lacked variety from day to day.
