Could have been better

Posted 26-Feb-2015
Pros: Clean and comfortable room
Cons: Restock the vending machine Ensure the housekeeping staff replenish the room. Have a microwave in the room Email re changes, example no restaurant
Location: Great location under two blocks to the harbour and across from the legislative buildings. Didn't take in the surroundings
I found the room comfortable and clean. But... The coffee wasn't replenished nor the shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. I left a note and it wasn't acknowledged. Had to leave a 2nd note. The restaurant under renovations was not good. As a diabetic it is necessary for me to have regular meals. I also have difficulty walking, so going to the other restaurant wasn't easy for me. I felt that we should have been notified of the renovations and compensated accordingly. I had to go buy items for breakfast and snacks since the restaurant was closed and the vending machine was not fully stocked. It was nice that another place to eat, however a coffee machine in the lobby with some muffins would have been a good alternative.

Excellent hotel!

Posted 25-Feb-2015
Pros: Good price and cleanliness.
Cons: JACUZZI!
Location: We were going to a play at the McPherson Playhouse and it was close to that a restaurants.
The staff at the desk was very welcoming and informative. Our room was amazingly clean and beds very comfortable. The hotel was very quiet with the only noise being a couple of loud people in the night - we slept with the patio door open as we like the fresh air. The toiletries were simply awesome. So much so that I went on the website to see if I could buy some. The shampoo and conditioner were the best I have ever had! The morning complimentary buffet was very nice with fresh fruit, muffins, croissant, fresh waffles, scrambled eggs and ham and juices. Best of all the coffee was terrific. The young man running the buffet was very polite. All in all a great place to stay. Only thing missing is a jacuzzi! Would recommend it highly!

Great hotel close to wharf and downtown!

Posted 16-Feb-2015
We enjoyed our stay at the Embassy Inn! It was quiet and within walking distance of many interesting things to see and do! The staff were most helpful! We arrived early and they had a storage room where we were able to leave our luggage until the check in time.

Great location for all the sites.

Posted 16-Feb-2015
Pros: Great price for a great location. It had some perks, like a mini fridge, but best of all it was extremely clean!
Cons: The mattress sheets were not fitted so if you're a restless sleeper or tall, you end up lying on top of a bare mattress which is gross.
Location: The hotel is adjacent to the parliament buildings and 1to 2 blocks away from two museums and the beautiful harbour.
Stayed here for 3 nights and couldn't believe how close we were to everything - we walked everywhere. The hotel was quiet, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Better than expected

Posted 16-Feb-2015
Pros: Clean, fresh, friendly
Cons: nil
Location: very next door to the magnificent Legislature Buildings, one block to Royal BC Museum & Archives, a block to waterfront quay & Beacon Hill Park
Excellent location for Royal BC Museum, waterfront access. Check-in friendly, simple, and quick. Room in the "Tower' far exceded our expectations. Room was made up imaculate and with little special touches expected of only the best hotels. Although our timeing brought us there while restaurant renos were occuring, there was no effect except having to go to a next door hotel's restaurant for breakfast (included by the way) a very short distance away, where the service, food, and welcome was extraordinary. Every request was happily accomodated and the staff set the mood for our stay in Victoria.

Decent Place

This has recently undergone some renovations. It shows in the main building. The secondary building...dunno. The restaurant is undergoing renovations at present.

Great ceiling, thin walls

Posted 9-Feb-2015
The vaulted ceiling was great. Walls were too thin, I could hear the person in the room next to me snoring. I booked because it included a breakfast buffet, but the restaurant was under construction so I was sent to the hotel next door. It would have been an hour wait. Went to Tim Horton's instead.

Pros: Linens were good quality, soap etc. very nice, the eco sensitive cleaning products much appreciated. The included full breakfast was very good.
Cons: A view, other than the other wing of the hotel, would have made it nearly perfect!
Location: Location was everything! We walked everywhere we wanted to see in downtown Victoria.
The Embassy Inn proved a good choice for a short visit to Victoria. The location is ideal, close to the inner harbor, just across the street from the Parliament building, and a block from the Museum. We were able to easily walk all over the downtown area. The drive to Oak Bay was easy and we were able to avoid much of the congestion downtown. The return from Oak Bay along the scenic bay route was beautiful and brought us very close to the hotel.
