“Cambria/MoonStone Beach”
Fogcatcher Inn was really an excellent place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful and gave detailed recommendations for dining in the area. Our room was clean, comfortable and just steps away from the Moonstone Beach Board walk. The fireplace was a big plus during the chilly nights. You could even hear the sound of the waves from our room. So relaxing. The Breakfast Buffet is of good quality and much better than most we have experienced elsewhere. The Breaksfast room is quite cozy and the staff kept it well stocked and clean. We did not have time to enjoy the pool or spa, but hopefully next time. We will definately be back for sure.
“Comfort and Charm”
Comfort and charm make this hotel experience one of the best I have personally enjoyed in many years (make that decades) of travel. The decor, fireplace, high vaulted ceilings and spectacular placement directly across from Moonstone Beach were well worth the money spent. Additionally, the free breakfast included perfectly cooked scrambled eggs (with salsa) and an easy to use, pre-prepared batter, waffle iron for making perfect home-made waffles. Can't recommend the Fog Catcher enough.
“A Winner”
The best thing we liked about The FogCatcher was being right across the street from the ocean and yet only a 5-minute drive to town. The room was very comfortable in all ways. We were a little concerned to find our room adjacent to the Breakfast Room, but never heard a sound. And speaking of breakfast, The FogCatcher is one of the very few motel-type lodgings we've come across that includes a hot meal (eggs, sausage, waffles) to get you on your way. Front desk personnel were knowledgeable and quite helpful.
“Cambria and The Fog Catcher Inn - Great Combo”
Our family will definately be back. Staff were so courteous and friendly.
“Wanted to stay longer”
Very comfortable room, clean and tastefully decorated. The grounds are nicely landscaped and the place had a quiet feel to it, but our kids were made to feel welcome (the desk manager offered freshly baked cookies upon arrival) and I noticed other families there in addition to ours. Many choices from the hot breakfast buffet and the coffee was quite good! Location was the best part. Walk across the street to a beautiful secluded beach with great tidepooling and wildlife watching. There are also a few restaurants within walking distance. The in-room internet access was easy too, but in such a beautiful location, I hope one would not have to take advantage of that too much.
“Peaceful getaway”
Perfect place to go for beautiful scenery and peace of mind. You can walk along the beach because it is only across the street! Two wonderful restaurants in short walking distance.
“My favorite hotel”
The Fog Catcher Inn is a charming sea side hotel perfect for romantic getaways
“Fine little Inn.”
Nice large room, acroos from street from the ocean. Full breakfest, not just muffins and coffee. Close enough to lot's of wineries.
“May 2008 1 night”
My husband and I recently took the ride down the Pacific Highway (it was beautiful!) and we stayed at this hotel. It was fabulous! The employees were the sweetest ever and even gave you a Otis S. cookie upon checkin. She also took the time to explain the town of Cambria and the restaurants, shopping, etc. The room was so tastefully decorated with a fireplace and very, very clean. The breakfast room was very quaint and they even had a make-your-own waffle machine. We enjoyed it and wish had stayed there an extra day!
“Great Place!”
We only stayed here one night and can't wait to return again. Amazingly nice staff. Room was nothing short of perfect, cozy, comfy, clean. Fireplace was gorgeous. Separate coffee/fridge area. Beach across the street. We suggest a trip to the jacuzzi between 9-10 pm, you can see the stars come out one by one. Amazing!
