“Clean, fashionable and eco-friendly.”
Clean rooms with great decor. The staff was very supportive of us - a"naive tourist" couple on our first trip to San Francisco. Concierge booked some of our tours and was patient in answering our questions. The eco-focus showed through everything. Yes, the bathroom doors are a sliding panel vs. a typical closing door but I'm not sure why everyone makes such a big deal about it on the review sites. I thought it was rather cool and one less thing for me to run into in the darkness. I loved the location - real close to Chinatown, municipal transport and even the famous trolleys. I will go back.
“Would stay again”
Extremely satisfied with this hotel. It is centrally located, ideal for Union Square and within easy reach of all the other attractions of San Francisco as all forms of transport are within a 5 minute walk from the hotel. We found the hotel to be quiet, without any street noise disturbing our sleep and the staff were very helpful. Rooms were very clean, bright and spacious, with good temperature control. All in all, well worth the money, this hotel made a great trip even better.
“Excellent!!”
This hotel is great, especially if you are into the green movement. It is a LEED certified hotel. The location is great - one block from the entrance to Chinatown, two blocks from a cable car stop, and less than ten minutes to walk to a BART station. The food in the restaurant was great also. I highly recommend it!
“Nice hotel”
This hotel was very comfortable and easy walking distance to Chinatown and Union Square. If you plan to valet park your car, make sure you give to plenty of time (up to 15 min) to retrieve it.
“Perfect place to say in SF”
Perfectly situated, on the edge of Chinatown, convenient to downtown, transit. Rooms are clean, staff is hip and helpful.
“Great place to stay”
Lovely Hotel, very impressed by the cleanliness. The hotel staff were pleasant and friendly and helpfull with enquires. The hotel is central to market street, were all the main shops are, Maceys etc. We like walking so it took us about 40mins to walk to pier 33, you see so much of the city when you do this although you need to be realivey fit as there are a lot of hills. The room was fabulous, very peacefull even though you are in the center of the city. It was spacious and made more comfortable with little touchs like lovely soft dressing gowns. It was also quite a nice sized room and if you intend to watch much tv this was a state of the art modern plasma. I would definatelty stay here again. We didnt try out the restaurant but it was busy most evenings
“Great deal in S.F.”
The Orchard Garden Hotel is a great place to stay in S.F. Centrally located to transportation: Muni/Bart are only 3 blocks away; buses are 2-3 blocks away; cable car is 3 blocks away; and a rental car agency is only 3-4 blocks away. Close to activities: Ferry Building and the Farmer's Market; Union Square; Chinatown; and North Beach. Staff were very pleasant and the room was clean and comfortable. A great value when we booked along with airfare (free wifi was great but a little slow). A stay here will not disappoint.
“Would definitely stay again!!”
We went there for a short getaway and what a great discovery this hotel was. It is convenient to Union Square, the Emarcadero, Chinatown, Nob Hill and other areas. We never touched a car during our entire stay, you can walk everywhere. The Hotel is very clean and modern. It has a small bar/restaurant in the lobby which I can't comment on since we never used it. The rooms are a little on the smallish side, think european. Our room had a flat panel tv, dvd player, Ipod docking station on the clock radio. The bed matress may be the most comfortable we have ever slept on. It was fantastic!!! The bathroom was actually on the large side for a hotel. There was enough room for two people to get in there to play with hair, shave, etc. The roof has a small terrace with tables and chairs where you can relax with coffee or a cocktail and enjoy the surrounding skyline. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Valet parking was $40/day so you may want to shop the surrounding garages for cheaper parking. We will definitely be back to the Orchard Garden Hotel!!
“Excellent Hotel, Excellent Location”
Fairly new hotel just on the edge of downtown financial area next door to the Chinatown Gate. This proved to be an ideal place to be based to explore the city. The hotel is modern, clean, bright & very comfortable. The staff are all friendly & very helpful. Restaurant is a huge bonus as food is very good & well priced. Would not hesitate to stay again as The Orchard Garden was also excellent value. Would recommend wholeheartedly.
“Great hotel - great location”
Located almost next door to the Chinatown Gates. Very pleasant hotel, immaculate bathroom, comfy bed, quiet (and our room was directly across from elevator). Adequate sized room (we had the king size bed (no view) but according to the floor plan the rooms facing the street were half our size. Right across from a nice french bistro Cafe de la Presse. Enjoyable weekend stay. Suggest that you do not park with the hotel - we parked at the Sutter Street garage and it was half the price. The garage exit was an easy block away.
