Great Location, hotel could use some updating.

Posted 22-Jun-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Needs updating. Such as a counter in bathroom, new carpets and some luggage racks. Beds were also very hard.
Location: Great Location.
The location of the hotel was within walking distance of many things we wanted to do. However, the hotel staff did not speak very good English and they didn't tell us about the hotel shuttle. The room did not look anything like the pictures and it was fairly expensive. It was clean besides the stains on the carpet. It was very small. The bathroom has no counter space just a pedestal sink. Not very practical. The room was hot and the air conditioner smelled. The only window we had faced a bunch of other air conditioners.

Great staff

Posted 20-Jun-2015
The staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed including running to buy us new pillows! They gave us good info and made helpful recommendations. One thing you should be aware of is the street noise. Make sure you ask for a room at the back of the hotel.

Excellent location, acceptable mid range hotel

Posted 20-Jun-2015
Check in was not acceptable. Had booked and held confirmation letter for a twin bedded room. Given a double bed for 2 single females. Desk refused to acknowledge written twin room confirmation and refused to provide two beds unless a further fee was paid. Eventually agreed on a further payment of $70 US. Otherwise hotel was great location and reasonably comfortable.

Reasonable stay close-ish to Moscone

Posted 17-Jun-2015
Stayed for a few nights whilst attending a conference at Moscone. No real complaints, the area is sketchy after dark - but that describes the majority of down town San Francisco. The room was slightly overpriced for what you got but by no means too small or uncomfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The rooms were small, but comfortable enough. The location is great and hotel staff were helpful and nice. The continental breakfast is toast, muffins, bagels etc. including juice and coffee. We asked for a late checkout which they were unable to accommodate. But they did hold our luggage for us.

A pleasant surprise

Posted 11-Jun-2015
We've stayed all over Union Square on occasional weekends for the better part of 20 years. We've stayed almost literally everywhere you can: the Nikko, the Westin St. Francis, the former Crowne Plaza, the former Powell Hotel, the Abri and just about every other boutique and chain hotel in the area. Compared with most of those, this is more of a budget accommodation, and if you've never stayed in SF before, you might find the Hotel Fusion underwhelming. However, if you have a clear picture of what Union Square hotels are like (think European style), then you'll find the Fusion a good choice. Rooms and hallways are clean if not a tad tight. The continental breakfast is very European - toast, bagels, fruit all served in a tiny room. But if you're in town for a ballgame or shopping, that fits the bill just fine. Our room was inward facing, which meant no view, but also reduced street noise. Union Square can be a noisy place no matter where you stay. Maids cleaned the room early every morning - by the time we got back from breakfast around 10 a.m., the room was cleaned, which was nice. Quick tip on the parking situation: every hotel in SF charges a LOT of money to park your car, but it turns out they're just parking it in a nearby garage for a lot less and pocketing the difference. Hotel Fusion is literally a block away from the Ellis-O'Farrell parking garage, which ran me a total of $33 for a two-night stay as opposed to the $90 Hotel Fusion wanted for it. Park it yourself!

nice place, great location!

Posted 7-Jun-2015
Pros: see above
Location: perfect location, 2 blocks from Powell St. BART station and cable cars--along with street cars and local subway, buses. (3 day pass is less than $27!
Remodeled hot with new styling. Room are small but great location and private baths--along with high ceilings, make for a really great stay! Small room for continental breakfast--I think some people took enough food to live off all day every morning! (-: Nearby shopping, food, giant Walgreens to get anything else you need. I would stay there again!

Ok but not quite the boutique hotel we expected. Tired feeling rooms but ok for price
