“Pacific Northwest Girl in a wet, cold November Iceland”
This hotel was perfect for us. We like to walk so the 15 minute walk into town was just right. The hotel also gives you a map with hiking and biking trails around the area which were short (3-6 miles) but still nice. The service was very good, once we got used to Icelandic culture. When you approach an Icelander, you have to speak first and ask for service, otherwise they will ignore you until you do. The hotel was very nice and the rooms clean, if not on the small side. The bathroom was super tiny but did the job. Privacy was not to be had as the bathroom had a large gap at the top of the door so anything you did in there could be heard from the room, which made it hard to let the other person sleep in. Also, the walls are thin so bring earplugs, normal for Iceland. The hotel had story night on Thursday, which I highly recommend. They also have a shuttle that does into town but only makes one stop that isn't that far from the hotel. It would be more helpful if it had a stop in downtown and uptown. We never used it since it was just as quick to walk back. The food was adequate but it may be worth the trip to go into town and try the delicious fare for the same price. We did a hike up to Perlan, the science center at the top of the hill, and it was a good walk and a great view. We also saw a bunny while in the woods, which was unexpected. I would stay at the Natura again and do some of the day trips that Iceland Excursions does and picks you up at the hotel.
“Nous y retournerons volontiers”
la proximité de l'aéroport domestique ne provoque pas de nuisances en raison de la bonne insonorisation. Un peu éloigné du centre ce qui nécessite d'avoir une voiture.
“good hotel”
Good hotel, clean and comfortable. Although it sits on the perimeter of Reykjavik Airport and the control tower is part of the building, there is not much flying activity and it is very quiet. Convenient location with fifteen minutes walk into the town centre.
“Would stay again!”
Great location (easy walk to many interesting sites around Reykjavik)! Good continental breakfast, including fruits, meats, breads, cereals, etc. The staff was extremely helpful at all times (even at our 3am check-in). The only downside was that the "blackout" curtains in our room didn't stretch all the way across the windows and weren't very effective (during July these are vital because of the 24-hours of daylight). Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting Reykjavik.
“Nice room, people, and amenities”
I hadn't stayed here before because it is a little off the beaten Reykjavik path. The room however was very nice, roomy, clean and comfortable, and the staff were very pleasant. A very good value, though eating at the restaurant on site is a bit expensive. Very accommodating with transportation to various locations around town. I will definitely stay here again.
“Icelandair Hotel Loftleidir”
I was very impress with the service at the hotel. The staff was very helpful. I would recommend this hotel to my friends
“Excellent Hotel and staff”
The hotel staff was wonderful. The restaurant was first rate. It's a quick walk to get into town. I would definitely stay here again.
“Excellent service”
When we checked in, one light switch didn't work and was immediately repaired (within 10 minutes). I asked for a refrigerator on arrival and got one, also within a few minutes. Since we had flown overnight and arrived with our children, I asked if they could make up the sofabeds for sleeping, which they did immediately as well. Service was remarkably good throughout our stay. Staff was helpful in finding local activities and providing directions. Hotel was under repair during our stay and only about 1/3 of the building was open. Pool was under repair as well. The hotel provided us with free tickets to any of Reykjavik's thermal pools, which turned out to be more interesting and a lot more fun than the hotel's would have been, so no complaints. Hotel is adjacent to the domestic airport, but there seemed to be only a dozen or so flights a day, none in the evening or night so noise wasn't a problem. Nice walking paths nearby. It was about a 15 minute walk to town. Most of the walk is around the perimeter of the airport. Once you reach the end of the airport, it's a short walk through a park to the center of Reykjavik. There are paved paths along the roads that circle the airport and the walk was easy. The hotel is across the street from the Pearl and there is a bowling alley up the street as well. There is a beach (with hot tubs) around 10 minutes walk away, but is only open a few days a week on the winter.
“Excellent base for exploring Reykjavik”
I booked one of their small single rooms, which turned out to be plenty roomy enough for one person. It was themed, with poetry from an Icelandic Poet (Davíd Stefánsson) on the walls. The restaurant was a bit pricey - but it is Iceland - and food is pricey there. The food was passable to OK. The staff were all apparently from Eastern Europe - but quite friendly and helpful. Front Desk personnel were used to stupid tourist questions, and were quite helpful. There is a Reykjavik Excursions desk at the hotel - which is very convenient also. A short (20 - 30 minute) walk or IKr 1700 taxi ride will get you to the downtown Reykjavik.
“would stay there again”
Rooms well appointed and comfortable albeit a little small. Close to Perlan with great views over the city. right next to domestic airport which we hadn't realised - not too busy but some aircraft noise, otherwise quiet hotel, no traffic noise etc. Reception staff lovely and friendly, restaurant service less so.
