“Excellent choice”
The hotel and it's amenities were perfect for a birthday weekend get-a-way. The staff was very friendly and helpful without being annoying. Had dinner in the hotel sushi restaurant. It was a bit pricey but well worth it. Excellent food, service and presentation. The only surprise was the large Halloween party in the pool area on Saturday night. It was a little noisy but they located our room away from it so, no problem. Went to the party and had a drink but it was a younger crowd so only stayed for an hour or so to see some of the unique costumes. Sunday morning we had breakfast in the hotel restaurant and it was excellent and quite reasonable in price. Do watch out for the in-room mini-bar items. Can get very expensive in a hurry. Overall, our experience was great and we will stay there again, should the opportunity arise.

“A Wonderful Stay”
Very quiet and clean hotel. All of the staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. The pool overlooks the mountains. Very nice bar and lounge area. On a nice day they open the doors to the gym. That was very nice, because the gym overlooks the pool and mountains. I will stay there again when I return to Scottsdale and I highly recommend others to stay there. Two blocks from Mall, restaurants, and bars.
“Wonderful spot to stay and play”
From the moment we arrived our W experience was amazing. From the front desk, concierge, room service attendant right down to the pool concierge our needs and desires were put first and foremost. Yes, the hotel is a bit of a hipster scene and the pool was mobbed during the weekend, but nothing out of the ordinary. Just take advantage of the Whatever Whenever line and book a spot by the pool ahead of time. It was a perfect experience and the hotel is walking distance from all the hot spots.
“Nicest Hotel Staff Ever”
A great hotel and very well run. Modern architecture and furniture. Great downtown Scottsdale location. Tends to attract a monied, younger crowd. If you prefer a traditional hotel with chintz and dark stained furniture, best to stay at the Ritz or a business hotel. I swear these are the nicest hotel personnel I have ever encountered. They mean it wen they ask if your stay is going well. One consideration: the rooftop pool area becomes a nightclub on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons. Although the club promoter screens people and there is a dress code, the vibe is for the 20-somethings. Kids and adults 30+ will likely feel uncomfortable. Hotel guests can obviously attend free of charge. Many attendees are local. On Sunday nights through Friday afternoons as well as weekend days, it is more mellow and sophisticated place to relax. There is no parking garage - valet parking.
“perfect weekend getaway”
the hotel was amazing! the staff was very attentive and there was always someone there to answer your questions or give suggestions on where to go and what to do. the pool bars were really cool and the food in "Sushi Roku" was incredible. try the chilean sea bass and you must have a cucumber martini on arrival !!

The W is always a great choice! The service is personable and attentive. We had trouble with a lot of light pouring into the room very early. When we told the receptionist, he had a solution to the problem immediately!

“Mecca for the young and beautiful”
We thought that it would be exciting to stay at a W for our daughter's wedding. The overall impression, visually, is magnificent. The staff were, without exception, delightful and friendly...but some were a little too friendly. We felt an air of desperation at this amazingly beautiful hotel; almost as though they were on the brink of failure and were desperate for guests. The hotel was filled with young and lovely people and we were two middle aged women who felt a tad out of place. It's super chic and we are super simple; it's elegant and swanky and we are just smart but casual. Nobody made us feel out of place, we just aren't used to such fabulousness. Little too too for us, will pass next time for something a little more down to earth. Only critical comment other than the ethos was that our Wonderful King room was really quite small. Just go look at this beautiful hotel, it's a treat for the eyes and the senses.
