The 2.5-acre water playground features a sand beach, a waterfall, 10 swimming pools, and 27 holes of USGA golf. A Native American Environmental Learning Center staffed by Hopi cultural interpreters offers dancing exhibitions weekly, and a "seeded" mining ground gives kids a chance to dig for mineral specimens for a fee.
Spa Avania covers 2.7 acres of indoor/outdoor treatment rooms, gardens, pools, and meditative spaces. The spa offers a comprehensive selection of dry and wet massage, personalized treatments, mineral water therapy, Vichy and facial treatments, body wraps, treatment rituals, and a full-service salon. A self-contained men's suite offers golfer's massage, barber shave, and pure-performance facial in a private space complete with a flat-screen digital television and stocked minibar.

Dining
SWB - This casual Southwestern bistro features an open kitchen and offers wood-fired specialties with fresh seasonal ingredients. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch. Indoor and outdoor seating with a view of the McDowell Mountains.
Alto Ristorante e Bar - This Italian restaurant offers fresh, seasonal dishes, a collection of Italy's best artisanal cheeses and meats, and an extensive selection of wines from around the world. Dinner is served both indoors and outdoors, with terrace seating around fire pits. The wine list emphasizes Italian selections; the Formaggio & Salumi Cellar offers artisanal cheeses and meats. Singing servers and gondola rides along the resort's waterways are available.
Noh - This intimate six-seat Japanese restaurant serves an Omakase style menu and authentic Japanese beverages.
Water Garden Grill - Outdoor poolside dining on chef's salads, cheeseburgers, club sandwiches, and other lunch favorites every day.

Recreation
Art- and light-filled treatment rooms, workout areas, and soaring public spaces of black granite, earth slate, and solid cherry hardwood characterize the 21,000-square-foot interior of Hyatt's Spa Avania.
Camp Hyatt Kachina provides educational fun and recreation for children ages three to five, and six to 12. The hotel resort fee includes bicycle time allowing guests to enjoy the 8-mile-long Indian Bend Wash with bike paths, ponds, and playgrounds.

“Laid Back Luxury”
Great hotel with every imaginable amenity. Various experiences from private relaxation to social scene or adventures.
“Wow Wow Wow!”
Beautiful view of the McDowell mountains. This was our first trip to Arizona and I was very impressed with the beauty of the grounds. I would definitely stay here again. It was a great location in the middle of an upscale golf community. Gainey Ranch is by no means a ranch. You will not see any horses or unspoiled nature. You will see beautifully maintained golf courses upscale spas, and Bentleys. But other than that, I can't wait to come back. The evenings at the hotel were filled with live Spanish guitar music and a wonderful atmosphere.
“Great Stay”
I only had one negative experience. I wasn't permitted in the outside restaurant in my bathing suit coverup, which consisted of a long sarong and sleeveless top. Apparently my bathing suit straps were showing. This annoyed me because I had to go and change and then when I returned I saw other women with more revealing bathing suit coverups than myself. I think that the hostess had it in for me from the beginning.
“Exceptional Spa”
The spa at the Hyatt is exceptional. We visited others in the area, and the service, quality of treatments and facility are far superior. The gracious staff encourages you to stay and enjoy the beautiful, luxurious amenities. The grounds of the hotel are meticulously manicured. We had a minor issue at check-in which they rectified by upgrading us and issuing two free breakfast coupons, more than compensating for the error. If you decide not to stay at this hotel, definitely try to make a trip to their spa.
“Would love to go back and visit.”
My expectations were exceeded for this hotel. The service was fantastic. The staff was extremely positive, helpful and accurate in the information provided to me. They were great. It was one of the few hotels that actually has good food options 24 hours per day in a venue other than room service. The restaurants within the hotel were comparable to going outside the hotel (i.e. not " typical hotel quality food").
“Perfect getaway hotel”
I come to Scottsdale every year to get together with my girlfriends. We have gone to the Westin Kierland many times and a couple of other Scottsdale resorts. But we found a great deal at the Hyatt at Gainey Ranch, so we thought we'd try it. It is a wonderful resort and the staff is outstanding. When we checked in, we were given some rooms right off the lobby area and we were a little concerned. The rooms turned out to be small and smelled strongly of smoke. We called to complain and they moved us immediately to rooms on teh fourth floor with a lake view. These rooms were larger and made us very happy. We also went to the spa during our visit, which was amazing. Everyone had a great service and we hung out at the mineral pool for lunch. It was gorgeous and relaxing. I highly recommend Ashley, who was my masseuse. My friends also recommend Sabrina and Denny. Our only complaints were the original rooms, but that was immediately resolved, but we weren't able to get connecting rooms or get a late check out. But those issues were far over-shadowed by the friendly and helpful staff. So, we will definitely be back.

My older sister and I came to Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa for a much needed break and short vacation. It truly was more than what we expected. The resort was clean, the staff was friendly, there is enough activites to keep you busy on the resort or transportation to take you to local shopping. The Avania Spa is wonderful ! We had a great time and would like to just say thanks for everything and for running such a well oiled machine. We will be back and I have referred many of my friends to your resort since we got back yesterday. I loved it, thanks again.
“Beautiful Hotel”
Very nice hotel - staff superb. We were there for Aug 1-14 temps 105 -115 degrees so be prepared. Restaurants very good. Nice pools and grounds. Be aware they still ( in this day and age )allow smoking around the pool . I did complain to the Hyatt Head office about the smoking and did receive a prompt reply. Whether or not they change the smoking policy will determine if we return.
