"They've done everything they can"
The management/owners have done everything they can to make this place nice. The inside is clean, staff friendly and easy check in. But the location is marginal, not much the owners can do about that.

"Nice hotel with excellent breakfast"
Check in was very busy...we did not get the king suite room that we reserved and got a double room instead. Room size is huge can't complain there. Our room smelled of an old smoking room though (rm 135), I didn't complain because they did not have much room left to give out amongst the people that were checking at the time. The room could use some updates, peeling wallpaper in the bathroom and wrinkled carpeting. The air conditioning and bath fan were very loud but I guess that was to our advantage because it muffled any possible noise that could have existed from the outside. Reasonable rates and excellent breakfast...only thing about the breakfast choices I didn't like we're the cut up fresh fruit...the liquid it was served in resulted in a weird after taste on the fruit. I saw people wasting their fruits prob because of the taste.

"Not a 4-star hotel"
This hotel is older, and everything was funky-- couldn't figure out the AC for some time, shampoo and conditioner were in self-dispensers, and nearly out, had to ask the font desk for ice and beverages--no machines available. It is a 3 or 3 1/2 stars at most IMHO.

"It was nice to be close to so many shops"
Friendly helpful staff. I'd suggest it to anyone to stay at the hotel. I can't think of any complaints. I didn't have time to go to the pool, so I'm not sure what it is like.

"Great hotel"
This is a very nice hotel in a great location. It is within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and the waterfront area. Upon arriving we were greeted by Danny who immediately provided a wealth of information about the hotel and area. this was very helpful since it was our first trip to Scottsdale. The king suite is a large, well appointed room. It was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. Marriott thought of everything here, right down to the antibacterial wipes left on each TV remote.

"Great place excellent location "
The hotel is in Old Town Scottsdale a perfect location . I was heading out to Old Town to meet a friend for an evening of dinner and adult beverages . For the price and location it was way better to get a hotel room to get a DUI . Park my car and walked to the restaurant . Walked back afterward. Very clean room . And very quiet for Saturday night . It's youngers hip place but very comfortable

"Great location, close to everything"
We stayed 2 nights at the Scottsdale Camelback Resort. We really enjoyed the pool and the nice tennis courts and walking trail. The room was nice but not over the top. The continental breakfast was just that, cereal, make your own waffles, fruit cups, assorted muffins. We had to ask for a glass of water. We found the breakfast to be a disappointment.. We would stay again if the price is right

"A Nice Retro Resort"
When we arrived the atmosphere of the resort and the rooms reminded me of stepping into the 1970's. I was a little disappointed that we were charged extra for a 'daily resort fee' upon our departure, when I used the pool and facilities only once during my 5 day stay. Most of our stay was with family so we were not at the hotel very much. The place was nicely maintained and clean. I did not appreciate the sidewalk cleaner(power washer)running for 2 hours for the only day that I did spend at the pool area, which happened to be a Saturday. When we arrived at our room there was a musty, old hotel type of odor, but it was not because the room wasn't clean because it was. I purchased some air freshener and candles to attempt to mask the odor, it seemed to be some better when we left. I don't know if I would stay at the El Dorado again, mainly because of the musty smell in the room.
