"We loved the easy beach access. However the room is rundown. And the whole room had a mildew smell. We could see what looked like black mold on the window, on some of the panels of the wall. The room is carpeted and the bathroom is wood everywhere. The wood floor turned black after a couple showers. Unfortunately it was not healthy or comfortable to stay in those conditions. We would not recommend or return sadly. "

"Beautiful property that has thought of everything! The wine hour, cookie hour, popcorn, chairs, beach towels, the amazing breakfasts! The staff is so accommodating and kind.
Lovely pool and so close to the beach! New chairs on the patios. Loved our time here! "
"The First Colony Inn is a lovely old property in a great location for visiting the Outer Banks. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Buffet breakfast choices were very good and the hot option varied each day. There's a wonderful beach opposite the inn and a good selection of restaurants and shops nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return."
