Our stay in Frankfurt was for two nights only. We wanted to explore the town and its neighborhood, for which we have heard so much, to the maximum. This hotel fitted the bill.
We reached the hotel much before check in time but the girl at reception helped in getting our room allotted to us promptly. Ditto at the check out as our flight out was much later.
Free wi fi was another much desired facility. Our boarding passes could also be printed on the printer in reception. The hotel provides the facility of storage of luggage, but we did not need to use it.
All the girls at reception and in breakfast room were very efficient and very willing to assist.
What we did not like was the size of room (tiny) and its attached bathroom (tiny) for the amount paid. Myself and my wife had one suitcase each. The room was so small that there was no place to keep and open even two suitcases.
The other drawback, though marginal was that the room allotted to us was a sort of annexe.
The hotel is pretty new. They are still remodeling and renovating. Strongly recommend adding a luggage rack in the rooms, and shade for the skylight in the triple rooms. They serve good quality breakfast. Although the breakfast room is a little cramped, but the manager provides excellent service. He makes you feel welcome at home. Overall it is a nice small hotel with good facilities.
This hotel as 3 strong points: its proximity to the messe - so you can walk there, the rooms are large by German standards so you have space, and it has very good transport connections. As a bonus a very decent breakfast service.
There are major drawbacks included: its in a working class neighbourhood, its very noisy and busy, there is no restaurant service in the hotel and no decent ones close by. And the hotel really needs a major reno job and soon.
Lastly, if you are used to traveling under the Wyndham brand in North America - which I am - this is a surprisingly different experience for the all the reasons above noted. Generally Tryp can work but its simply not consistent with Wyndham's North American branding - so its confusing.
Under North American standards - this is a 2 star hotel - point finale.
I booked this hotel as it was closer to my office. The room size was ok and the building is being repainted when i stayed. Breakfast was good on weekend but on weekday was average with not much option. No elevators that was the drawback but otherwise the stay was comfortable. The hotel is good for short stay.
