“PERFECT location!”

This hotel was definately the perfect location. A ten minute walk from the Station so we didn't have to cab it, and the hotel itself (although may seem dingy on the outside) was so close to the Duomo that you could step outside and actually see it. On the other side of the same street is the muesum for Michaelangelo's David- so basically we were in the middle of everything. The hotel is clean, has friendly service and a perfect place to stay while in Florence. We had no complaints and would recommend everyone we know to stay there!

“Nice hotel near Duomo - David at Accademia”

The outer face of the hotel was being re-done when we visited (scaffolding - but almost done). The interior was great. Their meals are very nice. Location is incredible. Neighborhood is safe and quiet. Rooms are really nice.

“Great Location and Wonderful Staff!”

My wife and I booked 4 days at Hotel California. We could not have had a better stay. The hotel is very close to everything in the old city and we walked everywhere we went for the 4 days. The room was clean and fresh with clean towels every day. We had good view of the Duomo dome. The individual air condition unit was wonderful as it let my wife set the room conditions exactly as she wanted. One of the high points of this hotel is the attentiveness of the staff. The reception staff, both daytime and evening, were always available, smiling and helpful. I even got smiles from the kitchen staff! Daniela also helped me make some special arrangements for our anniversary celebration.

“Hotel bien placé et agréable”

La situation géographique permet de tout faire à pied, et de venir se mettre au frais aux heures de grande chaleur. Personnel agréable, chambre propre. Seul bémol : difficile d'avoir une table sur la terrasse. Petit déjeuner par ailleurs correct.

“Nice quality clean and good quality for the price”

The room was very nice, bed comfortable, bathroom very clean and nice. People at front desk very friendly, good breakfast. Walk to "David""Duomo, stores, and restraunts. I think a good value for the price. Need to go throuh some gyrations to get in the door, like announce yourself from first floor, then hop in tiny elevator to second floor, which we had no idea needed to be done, but another guest arrived while we were trying to figure out how to get in. Lovely stay.

“Hôtel CALIFORNIA à Florence : très central et à la fois au calme.”

Hôtel très bien situé, très proche du Duomo, dans une rue calme. Personnel aimable, attentif et disponible.Chambres, accueil et espace petits-déjeuners raffinés et élagants, refaits à neuf : un pur bonheur pour le mélange subtil des styles, des espaces clairs et accueillants. Petit-déjeuner buffet simple mais satisfaisant, salé/sucré, à volonté... Pur le parking de la voiture, ne pas hésiter à utiliser le garage recommandé par l'hôtel.

“A stone's throw from everything!”

A lovely hotel currently being updated and rennovated! While we were there, a new elevator was put into use that makes reaching the front desk from the street more intuitive and easy. A block from the Duomo, a block from the David, the location couldn't be better. Eat at little restaurants on the side streets--very reasonable. Walk, walk, walk!

“Historic centre hotel”

The hotel is in the process of being refurbished and when completed will be extremely good. As we were warned in the reviews we read, the entrance is not very impressive but the reception area has been restored and is very impressive.It is however comfortable and welcoming. One of its great advantages is that it is within easy reach of many of Florence's attractions and has some good eating places nearby.The Duomo, St Lorenzo market, L'Accademia,Ufizzi Gallery and the Ponte Vechio are all within approx. 10 minutes walking distance. We would certainly consider going back there again. It would be good to see the finished hotel in all its glory.

“Worth it”

This hotel's location is ideal for anyone visiting Florence. The rooms are basic but clean and ours a very high ceiling. The staff is friendly and the evening bar/cafe on the third floor has great views.
